Mitch Rapp POV

Waking up to aggressive typing, my gaze falls upon Stan on his laptop.

"morning" Stan greets not bothering to look up.

"Morning" I groan out, sitting up and walking to the bathroom.

After a quick shower, I get dressed in some jeans, putting on a random shirt while walking back in to see if Stan has made any progress.

"I swear if you ask me about any progress, I will shoot you in the foot Mitch." He threatened, knowing that I had become bored of waiting for any leads.

"Wasn't going to say anything." I speak, pursing my lips before walking over to the other laptop.

"Why don't you go get me a coffee, there's a shop down the road." He demands, like I'd just follow his commands without a second thought.

Wow.

Anyway,

"Sure thing" I answer, grabbing my jacket and keys, walking out of the hotel room.

Driving for a few minutes, I finally arrived at the small cafe Stan was talking about, it is extremely popular, but it mostly attracts older people.

Walking in, I stand in line and wait.

I zone out as my mind wanders onto other things.

I wonder if I'll see her again.

If we must track her down, then let it be.

We met her like a couple days ago, she won't even remember us.

Stupid, you are actually dumb.

She won't forget us because we made a perfect impression.

She might have a boyfriend already.

Stop being a downer and order your coffee.

Wait, what?

"Hiya, what can I get for you?" A kind voice asks.

I look up to realize it is in fact, my turn to order.

"Right... uh... can I have two coffees, one black and both with two sugars, and uh, a chocolate muffin please." I list, grabbing my card out.

"That will be $6.40" she smiles.

Has coffee gotten more expensive or is it just me? Once I had paid, I walked to the side to wait.

I miss her.

I miss Katrina.

"Sir, your coffees and muffin." She speaks, getting my attention.

"Thank you" I thank her, before turning around to walk out, but stop when I see something.

Well, more like someone, but the lights turn green and the car speeds away.

Placing the coffee cups and muffin in the passager seat, I start to drive back, trying not to think of her or Katrina.

"Hey, Mitch I think we have a lead!" Stan calls from the table with all the laptops set up.

"I only just came in, got your cup coffee by the way." I say walking in and closing the hotel door shut.

"Black? Two sugars?" He calls out, checking I got him the right one.

"Yeah, even got you a muffin." I responded, approaching him.

"Oh, banana flavored?" He investigates, finally looking up at me.

"No, got chocolate." I state, placing the muffin next to him.
