I scrubbed harder under the running water, desperately trying to pry the scarlet liquid from my hands. I groaned, throwing my head back in frustration, swatting my hands around the sink.

I had to get this blood off. I had to get the evidence off of my body. I placed my hands back under the cool water, the colour of danger fading from my hands as I finally managed to get it off. Just as the last spec flowed down the drain a knock on the door startled me.

"Skylar?" Zane questions.

"Yeah, uh, come in" I nearly stutter but recompose myself. He emerges from the bathroom door as I clutch a towel to dry my hands.

"You okay?" He investigates narrowing his eyes.

"Yeah, what's up?" I answer, dismissing his curiosity.

"Just wanted to let you know we've received a recording from an unknown person addressing to you."

"I'll be there in a second." I say dismissing him

The second he left, I rushed to the toilet throwing up all the food I had eaten in the past day, getting up from the toilet, I go to wash my hands while I hear the door open again.

"Oh sorry, I didn't know someone so beautiful would be in here." A deep male voice spoke

"I'm just heading out." I dry my hands and go to walk out

"Do I not get a-" the man tries to smoothly get my name.

"Name? No you don't" I shut him down quickly.

"What about a-" he continues to try for something from me.

"My number is also a no, goodbye" I slam the door shut and walk to go meet Zane.

"Finally you're here, we got a recording addressing you. I didn't think you'd want anyone see it or hearing, so I sent them all out." He rushes out heading over to the computer screens.

"Thanks, could you play it." I politely ask.

Zane clicks a few buttons on the computer and the recording plays on the big screen.

"Hello Skyler, it's been a long time since the last time I saw you, I'm pretty sure you were at least five when we met, and the first time you had take someone's life away. I never thought you could make it this far." He chuckles

"Well back to the problem at hand, which is you, you don't understand what's happening, so I must warn you, watch your back Valente, because I'll be coming back for you. I would like to have a chat before the fight begins. " he warns

"Goodbye my dear" he finishes before the video cuts off.

As the recording turns off it leaves me and Zane standing there wondering how he knew me and my childhood, the childhood that no child should have.

Only three people know about what happened that night.

The night that changed my life drastically.

"Can you trace it?" I ask.

"Nope." He responds popping the 'p'

"Where's Guss?" I question.

"He left the country for a while, if you want, I can get you a plane ticket, after I tract the location of the caller, but that will take a couple of weeks." He answers with the information he knew I would find necessary.

"Okay... Book two plane tickets back to New York, two weeks from now." I say walking out already putting my new plan into motion.

"Hey Sky!" Zane called from behind me
