Jumping out the van, I wait for Dante and Matteo to get the old man out, leaving me to stare at the building, a strong wave of nostalgia washes over me as I make my way over to the door. Pausing I hesitate to ring the doorbell, am I really that desperate? But there are no other options left, plus I would look stupid to turn around now.
Checking my pockets, I realize I've left my handgun in the van, turning my head to the side I see that Dante and Matteo both have their guns out aiming at Antonio.
Taking a deep breath, I lift my hand and knock waiting to get shot by the man on the other side maybe if I'm lucky he'll just stab me or if luck was really on my side, I'd receive a punch in the face.
"There is a doorbell" Matteo whispered.
Waiting a few minutes, I'm ready to turn around and leave but the door swung open. From the last time I turned up to now, the place never changed except from the new locks on the door. Ethan hadn't changed either, not completely. Sure, he let the stubble grow a bit more and cut his hair shorter than the last time I saw him, but he was still the same Ethan I grew to hate and love.
There he stood, eyes wide in shock and surprise. As he continues to stare, my heart starts to thud harder and harder, afraid it would just jump out and leave me, I try to ease the tension.
"Kindness never looked good on us?" I smirk but that smirk soon disappeared when I saw his fist zooming at me, stepping back I raise my hands in surrender.
"No hugs then?" I joke taking a step back, my feelings a little hurt but I saw this coming
"Hugs?! You want a hug! Skyler, I thought you were dead, dead! You fell from a twenty-foot-tall building and in the next three fucking years, I get a note saying you've left, no goodbyes or anything" He shouts, anger definitely radiating off him.
"Oh shit" Matteo whispers again, if I wasn't in such a bad situation, I would totally beat his ass.
Staring back at Ethan, I see him glaring at me, then looking at the three next to me and back, before signing and standing to the stand motioning us in.
As we all walk through the house, I check how nothing has changed except from the carpet, that was once a beautiful beige colour, well that was before I killed someone and stained it red.
"Nice to see you again, love" I smile
"I would say the same, but then I would be lying." he grumbles, my smile not dropping one bit "So why are you here, Sky?" He asks sipping his drink
"I never got to introduce you to my dad, did I?" I joke, knowing damn well I've told everyone he was dead
"Oh God, don't look at me like that" I say pulling a face at his face
"Like what?"
"Like something stupid is about to come out of your mouth." I say walking over to Matteo and Dante "Ethan, meet Matteo and Dante. Matteo, Dante meet Ethan. Now that we all know each other, I think we should get down to business."
"What about me?" the voice of Antonio says "No one cares about you." I say ignoring him
Heading to the kitchen I open a few cupboards until I find the ones that hide all the snacks, opening the cookies I offer a few to everyone except Antonio.
"Wait are these mine?" Ethan asks
"Nope." Snatching the phone off the side I head to the door.
"Where are you going?" Dante and Ethan ask at the same time
"Hell, most likely" closing the door I ring Zane's number, waiting for him to pick up, once he does, I explain everything to him while updating him on the plan I make up on the spot.
Entering the house, I used to love calling home, all heads turn my way, and it just reminds me of the time I walked into the ball room when I first met Rapp.
"So, lads how does a road trip sound?" I ask smiling at the four, all men glancing at each other with a look of worry
"Have any of you had rest?" Ethan asks
"We're fine." I dismiss picking up skittles from the bowl
"No offense Skyler but you look like you haven't slept in days." Dante says
Cause that's what every girl wants to hear from a male
"Yeah, you look like a walking Zombie" Matteo says
Definitely not what every girl wants to hear
"Just stay for a few nights then we can go on whatever trip you're planning to drag everyone on" Ethan says grabbing blankets from a cupboard.
That night was extremely peaceful as we all slept while taking turns to watch my father.
Nah, who even does that
I'm joking we just tied him to the chair and locked him in the spare cupboard while making very inappropriate comments.
