"The plan can't include explosions, fire, or killing people" Matteo says staring right at me.
"Jesus, do you want it to have unicorn and rainbows or something" I huff walking over to my car waiting for Vinnie and Elizabeth while Matteo, Dante Sheila, and Zane head to the other car.
"Ready?" I ask, making sure they have their seat belts on.
Speeding out the drive way, I connect my phone to the amplifier and play some music. "let's make things more interesting" I smirk speeding up next to Zane's car, keeping the same speed as them I tell Matteo to roll the window down,
"What's up?" He shouts, making sure to keep looking at the road I shout back "Wanna race!" glancing at his face I see him smile while rolling up his window to talk to Zane, seconds later Zane glances over before speeding off.
"Oh, it's on!" Elizabeth shouts, tapping Vinnie's seat.
Speeding up I swerve the car through the traffic, passing a few red lights to catch up with Zane, enjoying the way lights seem like long lines.
"Yeah!" Vinnie laughs rolling his window down when we are right next to Zane's side of the car "See Ya later bitches!" He shouts,
Pressing down on the accelerator, while the clutch is disengaged, I could hear the sound of my engine revving, while we race down the highway. Looking in the mirror I see Zane struggling to catch up.
Slowing down I take the same speed as Zane rolling down my window again, signaling them to do the same "Admit, we won!" I shout over the sound of the cars and my struggle to hear over the wind that ruffles my hair about.
"Yeah, you win" Matteo chuckles.
Driving behind them I see how far we really are "Not long now, huh" Elizabeth says from the back seat.
"Do you think we can do this?" Vinnie asks string out the window.
"It'll take a miracle, but even then...probably not." I truthfully say, glancing at his face but his expression is one of horror?
"What she means is that we might have a chance" Elizabeth says, shaking my head I correct her "No. What I mean is that we have low chance of surviving"
"Can you be any more positive?" She snaps
"Okay, I am positive this is going to end badly, and we might die.... but I'm also positive that I'll make sure you don't get hurt cause I will protect you" I smile at the boy seeing him relax.
After of silence Elizabeth speaks up "You've gone soft"
"Really?" smirking I look in the mirror seeing her looking straight back, turning my head to the side I see Vinnie has fallen asleep "Yeah, I remember when you hated kids, and teens. You stopped caring about everything around you. But that slowly changed when we met Vinnie, you took him in, treated him like a younger brother"
"Everyone has a reason for something Liz"
"You like him, don't you?"
"Who?"
"The man we are going to save"
"Nonce, we are going to kill Antonio while saving a man my aunt hired, so it's just two birds with one stone" I chuckle, always have love that phrase not sure why though
"Skyler!" Elizabeth screams pointing in front of the car, looking up I see a stranger walking across the road but stopped in front of the car, closing my eyes I stomp my foot on the brakes, turning the wheel to swerve the car trying to miss the stranger.
"You shut your eyes!" Vinnie shouts, I open my eyes slowly letting out a breath not because of the fact I nearly run over someone but because my life flashed before my own eyes, holly hell I still have so much to do before I die, like go on Facebook and send everyone those stupid messages saying if you don't send forward, I'll die then I can fake my death. Oh, my I won't even get to blow up the neighbor's cat.
"Did we kill him?" Elizabeth asks, we all take our seat belts off, getting out of the car I look at the front to see no one there
What the fuck, was we all imagining someone or...
"Vinnie get back in the car and call Zane, Skyler" Vinnie does as told while I walk over to see a trail of blood, well shit.
"His life definitely flashed before his eyes" I say out loud
Searching Elizabeth's face I see the 'what the fuck is wrong with you' face and 'you just killed some innocent man' face
"It's blood, not nuclear waste, chill out" I say before realizing she isn't one to take a innocent man's life.
"Do me a favor and back the car up, he might be alive still" I ask, Liz runs into the driver's seat and backs the car up
Walking over to the body, I lean down trying to see if he is breathing, placing my hand over his nose I feel some air hit my fingers, standing u I looked down at him "help...please" He chokes out, blooding flowing out his mouth like Niagara Falls.
There is no saving that.
"Zane said he'll be here in 10 minutes" Vinnie shouts from the car, crouching down I see how bad the wounds really are, "I can take the pain away" I offer the man "Please" He cries, placing both hands on each side of his head I twist as hard as I can listening to the snap of his bones, wiping my hands on his jacket I stand up walking back over to the car.
"I am way too sober for this" I whisper, and just on time Zane's car pulls up, everyone getting out to join us "What in the world happened here?" Zane questions
"He died of a heart attack?" I speak
"We were talking, and he just came out of nowhere and he just-"
"He got in the way" I finish for Liz
"Is he alive?" Matteo asks
"Nah, poor man could survive the accident" I say looking down at his body
"You killed him" Dante always like to accuse not even ask
"How could you kill him!" Zane hisses
"In my defense he was dead when we backed the car up" I argue "Now what do we do with the body?" I ask
Looking at the group they all just stare at the innocent soul that will go to heaven unless secretly killed someone who has sinned and had no chance of going heaven in the first place.
Huffing, I grab his arm and signal Matteo to pick his other arm up "Over here" I grumble, for an innocent man he really is heavy, though that may have nothing to do with his innocents or not, pulling his body to the side of the road I find a pathway leading to a bridge "Let's go" Matteo says
Speeding up we get to the middle of the bridge, we both look down and see we are above a new highway, glancing at Mattheo I smirk "What is that face for?" He questions dropping the man
"I don't think my car ran him over I think it was multiple cars because he decided to end his life by falling from this bridge. You know he wanted a quick death" I say while picking up the top half of his body leaning it over the side before grabbing his legs and sliding him of the side. Both Matteo and I look over the bridge just in time to see his body get run over many cars before they all stop "That is our queue to leave" Matteo says grabbing my arm and we run back to the others.
cleaning the front of my car I let Elizabeth and Vinnie go with Zane While Matteo and Elizabeth argue who gets shot gun, riding in my car.
"If you both don't shut up, I'll leave you both in the middle of the road" I yell rolling my window up, keeping the slight breeze out. Watching the two push each other out the way, Matteo winning front seat.
