Mitch Rapp POV

Waking up with a pounding head, I hear talking, "you know I was expecting to have at least one of these dumb men alive, how is it that two men killed fifteen?" A female voice asks.

"It was dark" A male voice speaks up.

"But did I not hand them all night vision glasses?" The woman rhetorically questions the soldier.

Trying not to draw any attention my way, I try moving my legs and hands but I barely even twitch "Check on H, I'll shout if I need anything." She sighs, turning away.

I hear someone walk out, now it's just the three of us.

"Howdy there, you know you can look up, I'm not going to turn you into stone." She laughs, it's not a sickening one, it's nice, I guess.

Looking up, I see we are still in the cabin. I turn to my side to see if Stan was there, unfortunately he's not. So, it's the two of us.

"Where's Stan?" I question, making my voice known.

"Don't worry he'll be joining us when he wakes." She answers smirking.

"What do you want?" I question, getting straight to the point.

"I'll be asking the questions here, last time I checked, you are in no place to ask jack shit." She cackles pathetically.

"Allow me to explain who I am." She introduces herself.

"You've killed people, blown up buildings for fun, which probably had people, innocent people in, which makes you no good guy." I spat out.

"Ouch, is that what she told you about me? Lemme guess, Irene told you I'd kill you if you got in my way, right? So predictable." She laughs cold-heartedly.

"She was lying to you, I told her to back off because this is something bigger than what you all think it is."
Instead of talking to her, I allow her to carry on.

"Look, I need your assistance, but you can't let Stan or Irene know." She pleads.

"So, you want my help?" I question, confirming if I were to agree to her preposition.

"When you put it in words like that, no, I don't need help, I need assistance. There's a difference. Help makes it seem like I don't know what I'm doing, but assistance, shows I know what I'm doing and your just... there " She defies the difference, although I'm pretty sure we both know that she's lying.

"No, there really isn't, and why would you, Skyler Valente, need my assistance, there are other agents so why me?" I speak confused.

"Well at least you know my name, right? I need your assistance because you're different from the others, plus I can get you out of the CIA, you can start a new life, you're not that far gone Rapp." She sincerely says.

"SKYLER VALENTE, HOW ARE YOU? YOU BETTER NOT BE HURTING LITTLE MITCH!" We both hear Stan yell from whatever room he's in, humor laced within his tone.

"Don't worry, we didn't forget about you. And I haven't touch a single hair on his head" She calls back, walking out and dragging the chair he's tied to, in the room.

"I see you stopped using zip-ties and handcuffs for tying people." Stan comments.

"I only use them on people who don't know how to escape from them." She recalls back.

"So, we got special treatment." He smirks.

"Please just shut it, okay? I'm here to tell you to back off and that I will be taking one of you lucky men with me." She smiles clapping her hands together.

"To where?" Stan investigates, both of them keeping me out of the conversation.

"That's for me to know and you to find out." She speaks in a teasing tone.

"You don't have a location yet, do you?" I ask, noticing how she keeps reloading all of her guns.

Keeping eye contact with the girl, I see how she slowly smiles, but it's an empty one like it's all for show.

"Well with the help of Stans contacts, I'll know soon. It's sad really, he has the contacts of people who know a lot more than they let on and if you knew who to ask you would have a lot more information right now." She walks closer to me while stan gets dragged by her friend to his room for the phone.

"Why do you choose to live the life you have, when you can escape it, Mitch. To a better one." She whispers walking behind me into my ear.

"Why do you?" I retaliate back.

"Because I'm too far gone, If I leave now, I'm practically dead." She answers honestly, standing up when she hears steps.

"We got it." Her friend, maybe boyfriend informs the dangerous woman.

"Good" Skyler leans down to my ear and whispers "don't forget what I've said." Standing up, she walks to the front door, turning to see Stan in the hallway "It was nice seeing you Stan, maybe next time we can meet in better conditions." She nods before walking out.

Just as the door closes, we hear a gun shot, and a thud

Hearing the car leave, Stan quickly unties me from the chain that kept me to the chair, then began to pace around "This is not good, not good at all." He kept repeating.

"She only took your phone, right?" I question the elder man.

"She took something from the phone and erased the whole thing, so now it's useless." He sighs exasperatedly.

"We still have the laptops, right?" I ask, trying to think of anything to help.

"Her friend smashed them." He huffs out.

Grabbing the house phone, I dial Irene asking if we could move locations.

Leaving me and Stan to make a new plan as the only thing left to do was wait.
