055- CHASM OF INFERNO
"W-What... did you just say?", bakas ang gulat sa mukha ni Sev nang magkaharap na sila nina Claude.
After having the short conversation with Claude and Evangelos earlier outside the academy's barriers, I finally led them to Sev who immediately called for a meeting between our two guests from the Roman Legion and the class Primarius. The meeting was held in the House of Athena this time.
As per the gods and goddesses, we left them with the semideuses from the other classes. Napansin ko ring medyo malayo ang loob ng ibang class Primarius sa mga magulang nila. Hindi ko rin naman sila masisisi kung ganoon ang nararamdaman nila.
And speaking of the gods, I forgot to tell Sev and the rest of the class Primarius about the titan Cronus' appearance back at Olympus. At hanggang ngayon ay hindi parin ito dumadating dito sa academy despite stating earlier na susunod siya rito.
"This is a scroll that our augur found inside the Trajan Forum when we went there to investigate. He said that the Greeks---I mean, you, should see it.", pahayag ni Claude sabay abot nung scroll kay Sev. Panay naman ang lingon ko sa pintuan ng House of Athena, nagbabakasakaling papasok bigla si Theo.
"Does this scroll really contain the---", hindi natapos ni Sev ang pagsasalita niya when Claude cut him off...
"The Prophecy of Fates.", a series of gasps instantly resonated from the House of Athena. I even saw how Pen stepped forward.
"You mean to say, that's what the broken prophecy is really called?", tanong niya na ikinatango naman ni Claude.
Lumingon siya sa gawi ni Evangelos na kaagad na nagtungo sa tabi niya. Sa pagkakataong ito ay siya naman ang nagsalita...
"Our ancestors thought that the Prophecy of Fates was for us---the reason why they've hidden it within their protection for decades while they cowered from its existence, until... we found it a few weeks ago in the Forum. Our augur studied the scriptures written inside that scroll until last week and he was able to recognize pieces of it that was identical to your 'so called' broken prophecy. A coincidence? I don't think so.", there was a hint of suspicion in Evangelos' tone as he threw a quick glance on the golden scroll that was now in Sev's hand. He continued...
"He wanted us to deliver you a warning and said that everyone's future... is in your hands. You Greeks will be held responsible for the countless lives that are at stake. And this is the matter of all the realms, may I add.", Evangelos sounded like he was warning, but at the same time, threatening us. Kita ko pa ang pagpapalitan nila ng matatalim na titig ni Kai.
"You sound as if you're trying to blame and blackmail us for whatever is to come. Mind you, like the rest of your Legion, we didn't ask for the fulfillment---much less the existence of this g*ddamn prophecy. None of us have any control over it. It is the will of the Fates... so you better watch your tone, Roman.", segunda ni Kai na akmang susugod pa sa gawi ni Evangelos, pero kaagad siyang napigilan nina Eur at Sev.
Kai just hissed at Evangelos who only sneered at him in return. Kalaunan naman ay pumagitna na si Archsev sa aming lahat.
"Alright, I've had enough with all that. We still have a prophecy to take care of so will the two of you quit it already?", pangangaral ni Sev dun sa dalawa na mahina namang ikinatawa ni Claude sabay batok pa kay Evangelos na katabi niya. Umalma kaagad ito...
"Great, now I'm being scolded by your Greek brother. Wow. I hate you both.", sarkastikong pahayag ni Evangelos kay Claude while he was referring to both him and Archsev na ikinagulat ko.
