068- HIDING ONE'S LIGHT UNDER A BUSHEL

AMADEUS

Nalaglag ang panga ko sa itinawag ni Clea sakin. She even mistook me for her daddy! She's really drunk from all that wine.

"Cleandra it's me, your brother, Amadeus. I'm not your dad, but wake up, please. We need to hurry and finish the Aloadae before the effects of the Atropa Belladonna wear off. I'm sorry for being late. Please wake up.", I desperately tried to shake her off para sana gisingin siya pero kaagad namang nagprotesta si Kyon na kasama ko ngayon at nasa harapan ko.

Who's Kyon, you ask? Well, here's what happened during my five-day quest to the Underworld...

While trailing the depths of the forest, some sort of strange vortex suddenly materialized out of nowhere infront of me, and from it, appeared a frightening creature of silver-colored fur. It stood about six-feet tall as it bared its razor-sharp fangs before me. Kulay itim din and mga mata nito and its claws were incredibly sharp as newly-honed knives.

A-And it's not a Cerbie either... dahil hindi naman tatlo ang ulo nito. He's not even Cerberus' brother, Orthrus, since this one only carries a single head and not two. At isa pa, this majestic wolf-like creature's far more larger than Mageia and Kratos too. What is he exactly?

"He's Kyon. Keeper of the southwestern chthonic barrier. One of the sentinels guarding the Enneadic Gates of Hades along with Cerberus, Orthrus, and Dolion.", a disembodied voice suddenly came out of nowhere. It sounded like a woman kaya bahagya akong napatalon sa gulat.

And the voice even mentioned Orthrus and Dolion. Evangelos and Kai's animalis guardians. Kahit si Cerberus ay nabanggit niya rin.

So this huge puppy; Kyon, is one of them, huh? Wow.

"Kyon won't bite, son of Zagreus. Follow him. He'll guide you to me.", the strange woman spoke again.

Nagpalingon-lingon ako sa paligid pero wala akong makita o maramdaman na ibang presensya maliban sa lobong nasa harapan ko. Kyon. How cute. But anyways...

"Who are you?", I asked the woman. Rinig ko ang paghalakhak niya sa kung saan.

"Oh? You don't know who I am? But I thought you needed my help? You're lucky. I'm a friend of your father's.", she hinted kaya natigilan ako. Naalala ko ulit yung mga bilin ni Cleandra sakin.

"I need you to find the goddess with the misted-eyes. I heard that she resides by the end of the River Lethe's bank in the Underworld. She grants mortals one sacred plant from her garden if they can guess her name correctly."

So it's her. And she's a friend of my father, Zagreus?

And that's how I met Kyon, along with that woman. After my conversation with the unknown goddess ay sinundan ko si Kyon into another vortex that opened a few meters away. The unknown goddess said that it was one of her secret passages to the Underworld granted to her by the god Hades himself. Hindi na ako nagprotesta pa dahil ramdam ko ring hindi naman talaga siya masama.

"Can you wake her up?", tanong ko kay Kyon sa harapan ko. He growled as a response before finally tending to Clea as he licked her cheeks.

Nung una ay akala ko parang wala lang iyong epekto kay Clea pero unti-unti akong nabuhayan ulit ng loob nang makita ang dahan-dahang pagbukas ng mga mata niya. I turned to Kyon.

"I owe you so much now. Thank you.", sambit ko kahit na hindi naman talaga ito nakakapagsalita. I just don't know how to thank this wolf enough! He's been a great help.
