002- THE PRINCE OF OLYMPUS
AHLKRIA
"M-Mom..." I managed to whisper, my voice barely audible as I stared at the goddess standing before me.
She wore a knee-length Greek dress of black and gold, the fabric shimmering under the dim light. In each hand, she held a golden torch, their flames casting flickering shadows across her form. Two black wolves also stood at her sides, their piercing eyes fixed on me.
The goddess' nightshade-black hair fell in heavy curls at the ends, framing her face beneath a golden laurel wreath—one befitting of unparalleled beauty and grace.
To my surprise, her eyes shifted between silver and black, changing with the reflection of the light. I wonder if mine was also as mesmerizing to look at as hers?
"You've grown, my beautiful child. You've come of age." Her voice was enchantingly eerie, yet inexplicably soothing. "I can see that Hestia has raised you well, Ahlkria."
She tilted her head slightly, observing me. "Did Hestia ever tell you who I truly am?"
I hesitantly shook my head. "I grew up believing that she was my... real mother," mahina kong sambit.
Nagulat namam ako nang bigla niya akong niyakap nang mahigpit.
"You look so much like your father. So beautiful," bulong niya bago dahan-dahang bumitaw sa pagkakayakap sa'kin.
"M-My father. Who is he?" tanong ko pa, nagbabakasakaling sasagutin niya ako, pero ngumiti lang siya.
"You'll know soon enough. For now, the only thing you need to know is that... I am Hecate, goddess of magic, witchcraft, the night, the moon, ghosts, necromancy, and the crossroads. I am your mother, Ahlkria."
Silence fell over me. Nagsitayuan ang mga balahibo ko sa katawan dulot ng malakas na presensya ng ina ko.
"I thought the Olympians only had a few chosen domains?" I asked my mother hesitantly. She merely laughed, amusement flickering in her shifting silver-black eyes.
"Oh, but I am not one of them, my precious daughter," she said, her voice laced with quiet power. "I came before the Olympians. I belong to the third generation of the Titans."
My throat instantly dried up after hearing her declaration. I said nothing more. I simply stood there, my instincts warning me—she was dangerous.
The Titans. Ancient beings forged from raw chaos, towering over gods, destined to rise and fall like storms.
Nagulat ako nang humalakhak siya bigla.
"Don't tell me you're actually afraid of your own mother?" the goddess accused, amusement lacing her tone.
She laughed in front of me again, but the sound abruptly faded as her gaze fell to my neck. Her expression darkened.
"And I suppose he gave you this as a gift of engagement?" she asked out of nowhere.
Nagulat ako nang tinitigan niyang maigi yung kwintas na suot-suot ko. I frowned, confusion settling in.
"Gift... of engagement? What do you mean, Mom?"
"Ahlkria, I have no intention of agreeing to this—as you are my only living daughter—but I'm afraid you cannot defy Zeus' orders. He is still the king of the gods, and the others follow him," she drawled suddenly, a glint of concern in her eyes.
"Why, Mom? What's wrong with this necklace? Who did it come from?" sunod-sunod na tanong ko.
The goddess exhaled slowly before meeting my gaze.
