Chapter 6 - Surrogate Uncles

Walking through the main room, you don’t see Dr Strange anyway, which you are extremely thankful for.

“Oh, for god’s sake I’ve forgot- “, you start to say with annoyance and as you turn round Pietro is right in front of you “my headphones – oh, thanks Pietro”.

You smile as you love how much he knows you that you didn’t even have to finish your sentence before he knew exactly what you needed.

You get a bottle of water from the fridge; you always train better with music and a cold bottle of water.

You go to leave but before you can Tony shouts you.

“Hey sport, looking good! I’ve put your elements section in the extension of the training room, so feel free to destroy the place, it’s fire resistant, strong enough to handle hurricane force winds, can’t be water damaged and it’s not made out of any earthly substances like bricks or anything – so go crazy”. He smiles and winks at you.

You run over to him and give him a tight hug with a beaming smile across your face. “You are the best Tony Stark, what would me and my powers do without you”, he looks at you and smiles “probably destroy my lawn”, he smirks and you peer over his shoulder at the mess you made earlier that day.

You mouth sorry to him before heading to your new purpose-built training room.

You walk in and see the wall separating your room from the rest of it. “It’s made from vibranium” a husky, breathless voice says behind you.

You turn and see a sweaty Steve unwrapping his hands after destroying 5 punch bags… AGAIN. Third time this week, Stark was going to go mad. You look between him and the wall.

“How did yo- “you question, as it just looked like a metal wall to you.

“It’s the strongest substance on the planet, no matter what you do in the field, my shield is never tainted. We called in a massive favour with T’Challa and Wakanda. They were more than happy to help; they love your powers. That display you did for them when we dropped Bucky off had them mesmerised”, Steve explains with a sincere smile on his face.

You think back to that day, you only went because you wanted to see what this Wakanda place was all about, and you instantly fell in love with it.

Then you met Shuri, and she was instantly intrigued into your powers, what you could do. So, you showed her, by making a display using the earth, leaves and wind to make it look like people dancing and flying through the air.

Then Bucky explained about the fire and water element before he went in the ice and Shuri brought you some water and lit a fire next to eachother, so you manipulated them to twist around eachother looking like DNA strands and then shoot into the air creating a firework like display.

You remember T’Challa was rather impressed of your control over the powers and Shuri was impressed with your DNA make up that allowed you to have these powers, asking a million and one questions.

You start giggling to yourself thinking back to that day before you hear Steve calling your name, bringing you back.

“You and Tony honestly are the best! Can’t thank you enough, right Cap, my turn to train and destroy Tony’s property, so he can be mad at us both” you wink and look at the punching bags.

Steve giggles, nods his head, and tidys up and leaves, shouting as he leaves “have at it Y/N. You smirk over your shoulder.
