Chapter 55 - Living the Dream

You get up, your eyes not leaving him. You slowly edge your way towards Strange, as he takes a step towards you as well.

You reach your arm out to touch him, hesitantly. Your mind and heart were arguing with eachother, your hope had been crushed before and you couldn't handle it again...

You place your hand on Strange's arm and you release the breath you were holding, the tears flowing down your cheek.

You look up from your hand and meet his eyes. His were filled with tears, giving you an understanding yet sorrowful smile.

He slowly lifts his hand to cup your face. Closing your eyes, you lean into his touch, which makes your heart skip a beat and your mind relax.

It was real.

"I'm right here, sweetheart."

You let out a sob with a smile. As you open your eyes, he was admiring you. Taking in every inch of you, reminiscing on what he had lost.

You pull on his jacket and that's all he needed. You come crashing down onto eachother in a deep, passionate kiss, filled with nothing but desire.

After a couple of minutes, you pull out of the kiss and rest your foreheads, breathless and cheeks flushed.

"I've missed you so much" You whisper.

"I'm right here sweetheart. I'm not going anywhere. Never again" He responds, kissing your forehead once again.

You pull him into a tight hug and lift your head to his shoulder, wrapping your arms under his and holding onto his back.

"Please don't" You whisper delicately, amongst sobs.

"Erm guys I'm sorry to break up the reunion" Tony sheepishly asks.

You both instantly look at him, then eachother. You nod.

"Thanos" You say.

Tony simply nods in response. You watch the varied responses, mostly anger, some determination and a little fear... especially from Peter.

You look up at Strange, he spotted the fear on Peter's face too. You slip away and pull Peter into a private room so no one can hear you or disturb you.

"I won't send you away again. But this isn't a fight to be taken lightly kiddo. I just want you to be sure you're up for this." You say softly.

"I-i er- I think I am. Mr St-"

"Okay I'm gonna stop you there. I know you want to make an impression on Tony Peter, I do. I get it. But, if this goes wrong, we cant reverse this again. Okay, I don't want you to go out into this and-"

"I can't do it" Peter admits, breaking down.

You give him a comforting hug. "That's okay. I'm proud of you, now you listen to me. Get somewhere safe. I know Tony has a panic room, combination is the day of his, mine and your birthday so 290610. Got it?"

"290610, okay".

"That's it. Now that's to get you in AND out okay? You'll have cameras in there to see when it's clear, okay?"

"Okay, thank you."

"Y/N HELP!"

You look back and panic. "Go!"

You watch as Peter runs off to the panic room downstairs, as you walk out. You prepare for the battle of your life.

Your eyes were dancing, preparing for anything. You see Tony already firing, Nat and Clint being as in sync as you'd expect two master assassins to be. Sam, Vision and Wanda flying and destroying any of Thanos' creatures. Then you see Ebony Maw.

He was amongst a giant pyramid of rocks swaying through the battlefield. Then you see who he's heading for.

"Oh hell no" You mutter and your eyes glowing green. Disassembling the rocks Ebony was on and forcing him to crash into the ground. He looks around finding how it happened.

"Looking for me Ebony?"

"You"

"That's right squidward. Now let's remind you of what I can do" your eyes glow green and grey as you levitate in the air, you fire large pieces of debris at him, using gusts of wind to have them hit him at different speeds.

You spot something on fire in the distance, you give Ebony a sickening grin before glowing red all over.

"What in the world" Steve shouts.

"That's my girl" Strange praises to himself.

"You're in my way Ebony. I don't like things in my way" You tilt your head.

"When did I ever say that I cared what yo-," you impact Ebony with a flaming piece of debris that had steel sticking out of it. Slamming Ebony onto the floor, the steel rides impaling him as he gasped for breath you hovered over him.

"Sleep tight Squidward. You did your best" you say smugly.

"He'll be the end of yo-you" Ebony croaks out.

"He can try. But as you've seen. I'm pretty damn hard to kill."

As you turn, you see Strange looking at you, completely overwhelmed with fear. You furrow your brows and lower yourself to the ground. He meets you there and instantly wraps an arm around your waist.

"Leave" He says shakily.

"What?"

"Strange, stop it" Tony's voice rings in your ear through the comms.

"Stark stay out of this"

"Stephen duck"

"Wh-"

"I said duck" You push him to the ground as your eyes glow green stopping it just before it hit you. With one flick of the wrist it was launched at one of the chitaturis flying ships.

"Y/N!" Strange shouts as he jumps up, creating a mirror dimension affect, causing some more debris to turn to dust as it impacts it.

"You were saying? I get you're worried. But what safer place is there, than by your side?"

Strange rolls his eyes and scoffs.

"Told you Strange. Should listen to me more often" Tony smugly says on the comms.

"What am I missing?" You say confused. Whilst fighting new creatures coming in.

"Your pops said the same thing when I told him you shouldn't be here"

"Well... as the saying goes.. like father, like daughter."

"Atta girl. Now go get him" Tony encourages.

"Yeah Y/N, do it" Pietro backing up Tony.

Nat and Bucky turn to smirk at you, with Steve giving you a nod as he ran past you.

You turn to the one person you needed the confirmation from. He looked at you and then at thanos. He grabs your face and pulls you into him, a deep, heated kiss.

"Go kill him, so I can marry you."

You light up, with your stomach fluttering "you remembered?"

"Of course I remembered the best day of my life, to date."

"To date?" You ask confused.

"Well once I marry you, that'll take top position. Now go, can't marry you out here, as much as I'd love to."

"I love you, my savior"

"I love you, my sweetheart."

You close your eyes and open them as the colours are dancing. You levitate in the air and find thanos.

"THANOS!"

"Ah the master of the Natural arts, good of you to bring yourself to your own death."

"Funny, I was gonna say the same to you."
