Chapter 40 - First Test

“We are the children on Thanos, we have come to claim possession of your planet and cleanse it” One of the aliens speak.

“Well, if you’re the kids, go get daddy little one and we will discuss this with the grown-up” you shout back.
“Don’t you talk down to me. I am Ebony Maw, you will do as I say or you will be the first to face the consequences” Ebony roars out.

Instantly Strange steps out in front of you, draw his distinctive orange orbs at the end of his fists “Okay I’ve heard enough, you are trespassing in this city and on this planet” Strange speaks up.

“You talk a lot on this planet, don’t you?” Ebony replies.

“Hey, that means get lost squidward, he’s the polite one. Me? Not so much and you’re pissing me off” Tony shouts, also stepping forward, but he notices Strange has you covered, so steps in front of Pietro and Peter.

“Does that blabbering monkey speak for you all then?” Ebony questions.

Strange looks over his shoulder and smirks, stepping aside. “You insulted the wrong person.” Strange announces completely smug.

Tony looks at him with furrowed brows, as he hadn’t put his helmet on yet and Strange nods his head towards you. But you were already in the air surrounded by the fire element, glowing red.

“You were warned to leave twice, now you’ve tested my patience. Get back on your ship and go to wherever you came from or you will face my consequences” you roar out, but it echoes through the streets.

Tony is dumbfounded, jaw ajar, looking swiftly between you and Strange trying to figure out what was happening. Peter took a step back, feeling a little scared and Pietro wore a smug smirk, crossing his arms and laughing a little at the creatures stood before you.

“Oh child, you don’t know who you are facing” Ebony barks.

“You don’t know who you’re facing buddy.” Strange comes to your defence, looking up at you with nothing but admiration and love.

“I’ll tell you once more. Leave.” You order.

Instead, Ebony summons debris from the ground forming them into arrows, but Strange creates a portal sending them elsewhere.

“You were warned.” He spoke smugly, “remember the mirror dimension Y/N” Strange shouts to you.

Tony looks at him with furrowed brows and Strange smiles. Tony looks up at you and you wink at him, he notices Strange has taken a few steps to the right, so he backs off to the left, taking Pietro and Peter with him.

You close your eyes and spread your arms open.

As you open your eyes, they were dancing again. You aim fire covered debris at the creatures, followed with wind to throw them off.

Lowering yourself to the ground, you walk towards them using your arms for direction, you use gusts of wind to move cars and fire to blow them up as they were heading towards the Ebony and the ship.

Ebony is too quick and destroys them all or directs them at his comrade. You get more pissed off that he was deflecting, and you use all of your strength to conjure fire, air and debris around you and launch it at him, he doesn’t deflect that as quickly, knocking him back and sending him into the ground.

You are breathless and are hunched over trying to catch your breath. Strange’s smile drops, and he looks at Tony with worry, Tony quickly catches on that this hasn’t happened before.

“Pietro, get her out of here. Now. Strange?” Tony quizzes.

“Way ahead of you, Stark. What are you waiting for kid? GET HER!” Strange shouts as he charges towards Ebony and the other creature. Glancing at you with concern as Pietro grabs you.

“Pietro NO! What are you doing?! Take me back now.” You cry out.

“Not a chance Y/N, you nearly passed out. Not happening. You were incredible though” Pietro praises you. “I’m sorry to do this, but I’ve got to go” Pietro speeds away, leaving you blocks away from the fight, you levitate up to see how far you were.

Too far.

Too far for you to get there.

“You wanting to join the party, beautiful?” a familiar husky voice asks from below.

“Bucky?! How did you?” you question in pure joy.

Lowering yourself to the ground, landing next to him.
“Doesn’t matter, jump on” he says sat on his Harley.

You swing your leg over the back and grip on his waist, he turns and smirks at you and you pull your visor down.

“Mind giving me a hand getting rid of the rubbish on the road?” he teases.

You roll your eyes and flash your eyes brown, to get rid of any debris on the road to make a clear path for Bucky to swerve through. You reach the street by the sanctum in no time at all. You jump off the bike and before you head back into it, you turn and look at Bucky.

“How?” you question again.

“That’s a need-to-know basis my beaut. You get your mystical ass in there and fight.” Bucky orders with a wide smile.

You make your eyes dance and levitate, sending air, water and debris flying at the creatures again. Bucky looks up with pride and does a 180 heading out of the fight.

As you attack again you see Strange has been locked against a piece of cement, with Ebony making it glide through the street to the ship.

“Tony, distract the big one for me” you shout from the air, Tony quickly complies not even questioning how or why you’re back and start’s firing at the bigger creature.

“Okay cloak, do your thing, come on I know you can do it. NOW” you watch as Strange is sent coursing back in your direction, free of the cement, as you lower yourself to the ground. Once you land, you realise he has been knocked unconscious.

“SHIT. PIETRO FIND WONG, I NEED A PORTAL!” you scream in panic. Ebony was coming back for you both, you dance your eyes brown and surround yourself in debris. “Come on speedy, please, please” you mutter to yourself in a panic.

“Y/N NEXT TO YOU” you hear Pietro shout.

You look through the cracks of the debris and see the familiar glow of the portal and glow your eyes brown creating yourself a barrier to drag Strange to the portal and put him through it, shouting inside “WONG CLOSE IT NOW!” it closes straight after.

As you turn round you have hundreds of sharpened cement, surrounding you.

“You may have hidden the time stone for now. But we will be returning, this was just the beginning for your planet. We will be it’s end, mark my words.” Ebony warns.

Shortly after, he is blasted by Tony. As Pietro and Tony stand in front of you protectively, with Peter next to you, as you watch the bigger creature cradle Ebony as they are beamed back up to their ship in a glowing blue stream of light.

Their ship whirls into life and soars away, allowing you all to take a breath.
