     I could see you.

I could see you, smudges of colour, your figure wavering before my eyes like you were underwater.

You were talking to me, telling me something, but your voice is muffled, the words indistinct.

I waved my hand through the mist embracing this world, my heart pounding in my throat.

I could see you, but I couldn't see your smile. I couldn't see your eyes, the way they lit up like twin stars when you saw me.

Panic was bitter on my tongue.

I'd always had my memories, memories of sunshine and the concept of peace, of joy, that had turned it back on me the moment the life in your eyes blinked out. I'd always had you, even though I could never hold you in my arms, never tell you I loved you, again.

You reached out to me, the splashes of green that had once held so much energy wide in terror.

I stretched out my hand, trying to call your name.

My fingers went straight through yours as though it were smoke.

The scream lodged in my throat, unreleased, refusing to be swallowed. I could only watch as your entire shape shook, then dispersed into a puff of vapor.

I stumbled back, tears brimming in my eyes. I pushed them back.

No. This was a mistake. It had to be a mistake.

Come back. Come back, my Zelda.

A/N: There. My solution to my problem.

I've already told my story. There just isn't any more to say without just sounding repetitive. So using this, I can play with emotions even more while making these scenes sparser to make my life easier.

Win-win!

These scenes are not dead. They will just be disturbed, somehow not right, like a screen with bad connection. This gives me more options, more of a lead on what to write.

Hope you're all okay with that. If you have any prompts, they are more than welcome!
