Safe place (Markhyuck)

The first hurdle for Haechan is actually getting into Jeno's car, he hasn't been in one in so long. He stops and looks at it and decides the back seat is best so he slowly opens it and sets his stuff in the seat before looking back at the house for Jeno and Renjun. They still haven't come out so he figures he can take his time. He slowly puts one foot in then sits gingerly. He keeps one foot out of the door for a moment and tells himself that he needs to do this for Mark so he pulls it in and takes a deep breath. He finds it's not too bad, it's just the thought that it can take him so far from home. He sits with the door open and watches as his two friends come out to the car with tear stained faces and he hurts for them.

"Can you sit with me Renjunie?" Haechan asks cutely making them both crack small smiles. He nods and Jeno has a hard time letting go of his hand, it isn't until he kisses him softly on the lips that he can actually let go and even then it's hard. When Jeno sits in the drivers seat he looks back at the two, especially Haechan.

"Are you ready?" He takes another deep breath and holds Renjun tightly nodding his head yes. He doesn't watch his house disappear, he keeps his head on Renjun's shoulder and keeps telling himself, this is for Mark. They end up driving around twenty blocks from what he can tell and it's not as bad as he feared but after the car stops and he looks at the big hospital his throat dries up.
"That place c-can hold a lot of people." He says quietly. Renjun nods and holds his hand.

"I looked it up, they have around a 100 staff members there at night, most of which are doctors and nurses. It will be busier in the morning but they are here to take care of people and if you've proven anything in the last 24 hours it's that you can hold your own and defend yourself in a fight." Haechan chuckles. He takes a deep breath and wipes his sweaty palms. He peels himself away from Renjun and steps out of the car.

Jeno is quick to hold his hand and Renjun of course takes the other side. Jeno asks at the front desk for his room and they are told to go up to the tenth floor, this makes Haechan pause again, he doesn't have a fear of elevators per say but what if there are other people? People that want to harm him or his friends. He takes another deep breath and closes his eyes as the doors open. He is happy to see it is empty as they step on, but of course before the doors close a man and his child walk in. He stays kind of behind Renjun and Jeno but watches them curiously.

"Daddy? Can mommy come home tomorrow?" He hears the little girl, probably around five years old ask, with tears in her eyes.
The dad looks down and smiles sadly.
"I don't know sweetheart, we have to wait and see." He turns and looks back at the three awkwardly standing there feeling like intruders and smiles.
"Hi, my wife was in an accident tonight. She's going to make it, we just have to pray she gets to come home soon." He shares with them.

"I'm so sorry, we will keep her in our thoughts for you." Renjun says softly not noticing that Haechan has kneeled down to the girls level, still holding their hands until he lets go of them. He reaches into his pocket and hands her a piece of paper.
"This helped me a lot when I needed to be brave, so keep this with you when you need to be brave for your mommy ok?" She opens it slowly and holds it up to her dad to read for her.
"You are braver than you think, ML." She looks curiously at Haechan who is still on his knees.
"Who is ML?" She asks. He smiles brightly at her.
"He is someone who is very special to me, he wrote this at a time when I was really scared and it helped me so much." She smiles and nods and gently takes the paper back from her dad just as the elevator dings at their floor.
"Thank you mister." She says as they walk out towards the next desk.
"That was just so sweet." Renjun says hugging Haechan.

"I brought it with because it was the first note he wrote me and I needed courage, stupid huh?" He looks away embarrassed.
"Absolutely not, and now you've given her something special that she will remember for a very long time." Renjun says as he rubs his back. Jeno walks up after having left them to go to the desk and ask where to go.
When they near the door they quiet down until Haechan knocks softly, the other two step aside so Jaemin will see him first.
