Safe place (Markhyuck)

On Sunday the exhaustion had caught up with Haechan as its noon and he can't get out of bed. He could feel himself entering that pit again in the middle of the night so he would read his notes to keep him away from the razors and it worked. He tried all night to push away those feelings and mostly it worked.

When Mark got back in to town his intent was to go straight to Haechan's but Renjun unintentionally changed his plans.
"Give me your address and I'll drop you at home?" Renjun's cheeks redden.
"Just take me to the closest motel." Mark frowns.
"Uh, why?" Renjun gets even more embarrassed.
"No not like that, I'm not saying for us to. Ugh! Sorry. I was living in an apartment uptown with my boyfriend and he kind of kicked me out when I broke up with him, so I'm kind of in between places to live at the moment." Mark gasps.
"So you are renting by the day? That is so expensive, come to my place. Well my cousins place, I'm sure he won't mind. They have an extra room, so at least stay tonight and I can help you look for a place or something." Renjun smiles sweetly.
"You are so kind, Mark. I'm glad I got to be your partner, hopefully we will be great friends." Mark smiles and nods and determines he will have to go home to settle Renjun in and explain the situation to the others.

When he gets there he welcomes Renjun inside so he walks in shyly behind Mark. Jeno sees someone is behind him and speaks up first.
"Who do you have behind you there Mark?" Mark chuckles and turns around pulling the smaller one out from behind him.
"This is Renjun, he works with me and I just found out that his ex kicked him out and he's been staying in filthy motels for I don't know how long. I was hoping that even if it's for a short while he could stay in the extra room?" Jaemin and Jeno look him over then whisper to each other. Renjun is fidgeting nervously so Mark takes his hand.

"Ok, stay as long as you need. If it's longer than two weeks we would need you to kick in for rent and groceries." Jaemin says smiling from ear to ear.
Renjun breaths a sigh of relief and Mark squeezes his hand before letting it go to step out of the room to grab Renjun's big luggage.
"I was wondering why you brought so much stuff for such a small trip." He smiles embarrassed.
"Thank you guys so much, I won't be any trouble. I will stay out of your way and help clean and cook and anything you want." He says great fully. Jeno and Jaemin both smile at his cute ways before looking at each other.
"Come I'll grab sheets for your bed and show you where you will be sleeping." Jaemin stands and he follows him pulling his heavy bag before Jeno gets up and helps him. Mark is beyond happy that they've accepted him so well.
"I'll leave you guys, I need to run up town?" He says so unsure that Jeno thinks he may be up to something but let's it slide.

When Mark gets to Haechan's he knocks and has to wait for a while before the door swings open.
"Hi." He says breathless as he stares at Haechan's beautiful face.
"Sorry, I look like shit. I've been sleeping all day." Mark frowns and pulls Haechan in to the couch before sitting close to him and examining his face.
"Did you have a bad night? Why didn't you call me? Or Jeno did you call him?" Haechan smiles brightly.
"No, I read your notes when I was sad and they helped so much I didn't need to wake anyone. Look, no cuts!" He says excitedly.
Mark stills, picking up Haechan's hands and just now noticing the old cut marks.
"I didn't know you, I." Haechan shakes his head.
"Yes, sometimes but because of you it's been such a long time." Mark tries to hide the sadness he feels to show Haechan that he truly is happy for him so he smiles and hugs him. He takes another look at his arms and kisses them both softly.
"Keep it up. You can do it." Haechan pulls him into another hug, then asks about his trip. Mark tells him everything right down to the detail of Renjun staying at their apartment.

"Don't you think that was fast? You just befriended him." Mark can sense the jealousy and wants to stop it immediately.
"His boyfriend kicked him out, I felt bad for him. We have an extra room so I thought why not. Maybe I could send him here and you could come over instead?" Haechan slaps his arm.
"No silly, you just stay here while he's staying there." Mark gets a knowing smile on his face.
"Him and I are nothing more than friends and that's all we will ever be." Haechan scoffs.
"Pft. It's not like I care or anything ." Mark just smiles and offers him a hmm. He stays for a few hours visiting and cuddling with him before it's time to head home.
"Can I FaceTime you in bed again?" Haechan's eyes shine with his smile.
"Yes, I can't wait." He can't say out loud yet that he loves falling asleep and waking up with him and how much he would love to be in his arms all night but maybe one day he will. He pulls Mark into a soft embrace that Mark vows not to break, Haechan will have to be the one to let go. It takes a good amount of time before he does though and Mark is perfectly ok with that.

When Mark gets home, it's late so everyone is in bed. He quietly walks through to get to his bathroom to shower. He takes a long time enjoying the heat from the water. He dresses in a white t shirt and black shorts and goes to his room.
When he FaceTimes Haechan he answers right away and Mark thinks it's cute. They talk for around an hour this time, before Mark falls asleep first, Haechan is glad to get to watch him sleep a bit before falling asleep too.
