Safe place (Markhyuck)

A soft knock at the door gets Jeno to his feet begrudgingly, him and Jaemin were settled in trying to watch a movie but of course it is interrupted. With the time approaching midnight he figures it's just Mark and he forgot his key but he is quite surprised to see Renjun standing in the door a little wet from the rain.

"Renjun? Uh come in." He says softly.
"Hi." Renjun says as he sees Jaemin come to see who is at the door.
"Hi." Jaemin says back with little emotion.
"Is it ok if we talk? I need to explain myself, then I will go." Renjun says with a shaky voice. They both nod and sit together holding hands, he sits across from them and wipes the already flowing tears from his eyes. Jaemin gets up and puts the throw blanket around his shoulders surprising him. He feels like they should be angry with him, like they shouldn't show him any care.

"I'm sorry, I uh, left the way I did but I, my heart was breaking and I thought if I just got away for a while I could get you out of it." He says holding his hand to his heart. "I spent that time away with my family hoping I would feel clarity and peace about everything but I only missed you more." He clears his throat and takes a deep breath before continuing.
"I want you to know I didn't come here with any expectations from the two of you. I just need to say this out loud to you so I can try to move on." He looks up to see the both of them in tears and he wants to run away but he has to get this out while he is still brave enough.

"I fell in love with the two of you. I couldn't see my future without you in it, it was beautiful. I was so happy and then, I overheard you talk about me. About how you felt about me and all the two of you could say was that I was great." He chuckles dryly. "There was no talk of love or even like and it hurt so much and then you told Haechan I was your friend and that was like the nail in the coffin. Fuck, it hurt." He puts his face in his hands and tries not to envy the two for being able to hold each other when he has no one. His whole body is shaking and he's not sure if it's the cold or the broken heart that is making him this way.

"I am truly happy that whatever we had didn't hurt you two as well. I'm glad you are still happy together.  I just need you to know that I can't continue the way we were." He takes another deep breath.
"As much as my ex tried to devalue my self worth, I still have some left. I'm more than just a play thing." Both Jeno and Jaemin flinch and even try to protest but he holds his hand up to silence them.
"I never once believed that was your intention at all but if you don't feel anything for me other than sexual I can't be with you." He chuckles dryly as they continue to sit silently crying.

"Like I said I don't expect anything from you, I know you will only ever love each other but I needed you to know why I left. Maybe some day in the future we will meet again and can be friends but for now I just need my space." He shakily stands, folds the blanket neatly and walks toward the door. When he finally turns the knob he is stopped by Jeno. He slips himself between Renjun and the door blocking his way.

"You can't go yet." Jeno says as Renjun cowers away, having flashbacks from his ex. Jeno softens his stance and gently takes his arm and drags him back in.
"You blocked our calls. You never gave us a chance to speak. It's our turn now." Jeno says softly, as Renjun stares at the two for a moment before nodding and taking his seat again.

"Jaem and I have had a while, too long if you ask us, to figure out what went wrong and how and why we hurt you so bad. Honestly it took us too long to figure it out but we did."
Jeno gestures for Jaemin to take over.
"Jeno and I have been together for a long time and things happened to us that don't normally happen in a relationship.

The kiss and of course what happened after. Neither of us knew how to deal with any of it. How we felt ourselves, let alone how anyone else was feeling and that was selfish on our parts. I was too afraid as was he, to admit that we were falling in love with you because we thought we would hurt the other." Jaemin looks up to Renjun's surprised face and smiles softly.

"Renjun, I love you so much and I want you to be a part of our lives." Jeno nods and goes to him and gets on his knees in front of him.
"Please consider coming back? We love you with our whole hearts. We were miserable without you. We never want to go through that again. We definitely never want to hurt you that way again and will do whatever it takes to show you that we mean it." He carefully takes his hands and looks him in the eye. Renjun doesn't know what to think at the moment. He stands again and paces the floor.

"So wait, you love me? Why didn't you have Mark tell me then?" He asks suspect of the two. Jeno chuckles.
"Because we aren't in elementary school so we wanted to tell you ourselves like adults do. We knew you would come back and talk to us when you could, we knew you needed space so we let you have it." He looks at the two and shakes his head.

"But, I-I was going to get over you and move on." He says as both Jeno and Jaemin have come up to him and encircled him in a big hug.
"Just stay with us please? We love you and miss you and I'm not afraid to tell the world."

Jaemin excitedly runs into his bedroom and comes back out with his phone in his hands. When a sleepy Haechan answers, he shouts into the phone.
"Renjun is not our friend, he is our lover and hopefully soon our boyfriend and we love him so much." Haechan giggles sleepily.
"Congratulations, goodnight." He hangs up and Jeno and Renjun are giggling at him. Renjun's eyes start leaking faster and he wipes at them furiously while nodding his head yes. They both kiss him several times on the face and take turns with his lips.

"Good, let's start tonight. I want to snuggle you so hard." He giggles again while being dragged toward their room.
"Can I wash my face first?" He asks.
"Of course how about a nice warm shower and I'll bring you some clothes of ours that you can wear to bed?" He nods happily and disappears into the bathroom.
"I love you baby." Jeno says to Jaemin who is smiling from ear to ear.
"I love you. I'm so happy that you cheated on me that night." Jeno slaps his shoulder.
"Hey!" He shouts.
"Just don't do it again, we are complete now." He says softly kissing his lips. Jeno nods and smiles at one of his perfect boyfriends.

"Thank you for being amazing. I'm excited to start a new chapter with you and him, and I hope to always make both of you happy." Jaemin smiles and kisses him again.
"I'll get his clothes you go grab extra pillows." They get everything ready and when he comes out, his face already looks so much clearer and he's warm and snuggly in their sweat pants and shirt.
"I can't wait to snuggle you." Jaemin says cutely and Jeno can only agree while Renjun tries to cover his pink cheeks.
They fall asleep together and Renjun's heart feels warmer than it has in a long time and he can't wait to tell Mark and his other new friend Haechan just how happy he is.
