My POV

I am so frustrated today. I been trying my hardest to be on my best behavior in school and at home. I want to go to the art competition so badly, that I have been doing extra assignments, as well as volunteering to help my teachers after class. I managed to get Miss Smith to sign off on my request to go to Washington. I only need Mr. Wilson to sign off now. He is the toughest teacher in my whole school. The man is a stuffy, old guy that teaches science. I swear he hates kids. He spends the whole class asking questions, and then making fun of the students who don't know the answers.

When I first approached Mr. Wilson about needing his signature to allow me to attend the art competition, he spent 15 minutes telling me how useless art is in the real world. After rambling on for another 10 minutes about how important science is, he finally agreed to sign my request as long as I show dramatic improvement in his class.

I have been participating daily in my science class, and even answering questions correctly. All my assignments have been completed and handed in on time, and all my homework has been neat and carefully done. I have been doing exactly what Mr. Wilson has asked me too, and he still hasn't signed off on my request. The deadline for the sign offs is only a month away.

If dealing with my science teachers crap wasn't stressful enough, my secret trip is the exact same day that my deadline is due. I need to get Mr. Wilson's signature soon, so I can have one less worry on my plate.

Tonight I am trying to forget about all my issues, because it is Wandas birthday. I was able to go with Wanda, Chelsea, and Wandas mother(Stacy) to the mall yesterday. Us three girls got the matching pajamas that we planned on getting. I have those pajamas, as well as my other clothes all packed up and in my bag ready to go. Wanda has invited 8 girls in total for the weekend sleepover. I am super excited because this is the first full weekend I will spend with just my friends.

I neatly put Wandas birthday gift into my bag and zip it up, as my dad knocks on my door.

Come in dad

Almost ready to go?

Yes, I am all packed and can't wait

Anissa, remember I will be at a movie premier, but I can fly home at anytime if you need me

Dad relax I have slept over at Wandas many times. This is her birthday weekend, we are going to have a blast

I know, and I am glad your going to have fun. Just make sure you call or text me a few times this weekend

I roll my eyes

Yes dad

Hey it's my job to worry about you, so deal with it

I know dad

Alright let's go. I'll drop you off, and then I am heading to the airport.

Okay I'm ready

My father grabs my bag, and we head out of the house

Remember to keep your phone on at all times. I want to be able to reach you, instead of it always going to voicemail. I sometimes wonder why I bought you a phone in the first place. It's not like you ever answer it when I call

I answer it, I am just sometimes busy

Well don't be busy when I call this weekend

I laugh at his expression

Don't worry dad, when you call I will make the world pause, so your call will be all that matters

Keep it up little girl, and I can still change my mind on letting you go
