Chapter 16 Conflicted

Dave's POV

Are you fucking kidding me, it is after midnight and Emily and Anissa are still not home, I have called both their cell phones and Steve's. Thankfully Steve answered, he told me that Emily talked to him earlier, and told him that her and Anissa were going out to look at sites and enjoy Australia. 

Emily arrived about 5 days ago, and things have been crazy. I don't know what's going on, but it seems the more time Anissa spends with Emily the worst her behavior is becoming. Three days ago Anissa brought up her art competition to me again. I told her we were not having the conversation, because we have talked about it many times already. She got mad but instead of her normal yelling of "dad that's not fair" she took my phone and threw it in the ocean. I stood there completely shocked. The next day we went and bought a new phone, which is coming out of Anissas allowance. 

Yesterday Emily took Anissa shopping. I didn't mind the girls having a good time, until Anissa came out of her room wearing a stringed bikini. I told her it wasn't appropriate, and she needed to put a shirt on to cover herself. Instead of just doing what I asked, Anissa called me an asshole and slammed her bedroom door. 

Today Emily picked Anissa up at noon to take her to lunch and was supposed to have her back for dinner. Anissa is supposed to be grounded, but I am trying to be nice and allow her time with her mother. It's 12:30am and I haven't heard from Anissa or Emily. I went from upset, to mad, to angry, to furious about an hour ago. I was just about to call Emily again when Anissa walks through the door

Where were you?

With mom duh(that's the attitude I am talking about)

You were supposed to be home for dinner

Oh, well I decided I wanted to spend more time with my mom, so I just ate at the hotel with her

Why didn't you call me or text me?

Why do I need to? I was with mom

Anissa you are still grounded. You are lucky I am letting you go out and do anything. If I plan on you being here by a certain time, then you need to let me know if things are going to change.

Dad I am sleeping at the hotel with mom tomorrow night

Wait a second. Why are you sleeping there?

I will let you know, I need to check a few things with your mother first

Excuse me?

I wasn't asking your permission. I was telling you that I am going to sleep at the hotel with mom. She is picking me up tomorrow for breakfast and then we are going to the water park all day. Then at night we are having a bonfire and relaxing.

I thought you didn't like staying over with Steve there?

He has been pretty cool. He still makes his comments but nothing to bad.

Anissa I am glad you are having fun with your mother, but your not suppose to be going to all these places. Even though we are in Australia you still have to follow your punishment 

Me and mom discussed that, and we both think your being unfair

You traveled to another state by yourself, you drank, you drove a car, and you put yourself and others in danger.
