My POV

I am so excited. The last couple of weeks flew by. Mr. Wilson kept his part of the deal and signed my request slip for Washington. I was thrilled when the principal told me that he sent all the required material to the head of the school competition committee. I received a booklet in the mail explaining all about the contest and prizes. There was a few papers that dad had to fill out and mail back concerning my travel arrangements. The committee wants to make sure all the students arrive at-least a day before the competition is being held. The booklet even had a brochure from the hotel we will be staying at. Dad called the hotel and changed our reservations. I was booked to share a room with another student and her parents. My father prefers not sharing a hotel room with strangers, so he upgraded the reservations and paid the difference in the price.

My mother is responsible for half of my extracurricular activities per my parents custody agreement, which in this case was costing her $1800.00. My mother told my father she couldn't afford her half, because she is behind on bills. Dad told her not to worry about it. I heard him telling mom that he has everything covered(my parents rarely talk, but when they do they try to hide what the conversations are about. I tend to ease drop every now and then). I honestly don't think my mother has giving my father any money since I moved in with him almost four years ago. Every time there was something I wanted to do, my father would just pay for it. I know he keeps the receipts and sends a copy to my mother, but I don't know if he does that to show her it's paid, or to prove how much she owes for her half. The only reason I found out about the receipts at all, was because my fathers accountant asked for the invoices for my activities(I asked my dad what the accountant was talking about. That's when he explained that invoices were basically a paper stating how much a person owes to a company or in this case a program for me), and when my father handed him the folder, the accountant dropped it, so the receipts fell all over the floor. I lost interest in their conversation after the receipt fiasco, until I heard my name. He asked dad how much my mother has giving him for my activities. Dad looked at me, and then told the accountant, that he doesn't need any money, and only sends the receipts for tax and legal purposes(adults and there mumble jumble can be extremely boring).

I am relieved that I made the deadline to compete in the art show competition. Now with that situation taken care of, I was able to focus more on my secret plans. Chelsea lent me her prepaid phone, and I was able to put minutes on it. I had the phone hidden in my sock drawer so dad wouldn't find it. Laura emailed me the confirmation number to both hotels that she booked for me. I printed them out at my school library. I also printed out my plane ticket to New Hampshire and back to Ohio. Chelsea had been holding on to all my paperwork for me for extra safety. For the last week I been taking money out of my fathers wallet when he would take a shower. I didn't want to take a lot all at once, because he would have noticed the money missing. I needed the cash for food, drinks, cabs, and anything else I may need.

On the last day of school, Chelsea gave me all the stuff she was holding at her house for me. She wished me luck and told me to keep her posted. I hugged her and thanked her for all her help.

Dad and I left two days later and headed for Ohio. I made sure that I had everything with me that I needed. I also made sure that I hid it all in a bag inside my backpack. I was taking no chances of getting caught after I have gone through all this trouble sneaking around. I found it funny that the hotel that dad booked for him and I, was the exact hotel I was going to be staying at by myself, when dad headed back home to Florida. I wasn't going to be staying in the presidential suite like I am with dad, but it was still the same hotel.

I visited my mother daily at her house, and it was actually fun. On the first day of my visit with mom, she was so excited to see me, that she hugged me for like 10 minutes without letting go. Steve was there, but didn't really say much to me. I still think he is petrified of my father. Sally started her crap as soon as I got through the door. She started going on about how she passed the school year with straight A's, and how all her teachers cried because they were loosing their favorite student(I seriously almost gagged). I played with my little brothers for hours, and even drew a couple pictures of them. The 5 of us had a cookout for dinner(only 5 because Chaz still eats baby food), and sat in the backyard watching the sunset. I was totally surprised when mom asked me if I wanted to visit the brood before my father came to pick me up. I thought she must be joking, but she wasn't. She told me that she expected me to want to spend sometime with them on my visit.
