Chapter 21 Confronted

Emily's POV 

I just got off the phone with Dave, which didn't go well. He was furious. He seems to believe that I know where Anissa is. He supposedly got word that she is with me or will be with me. I told him that whoever was spreading those rumors were lying. He knew about Anissa having a date, so I have to change some plans around. I don't know who if giving Dave his information, but we need to be more careful.

How does this look?

Anissa is trying on some new clothes, because I couldn't take the chance of grabbing hers from the beach house. I was hoping Dave was on set, but he is refusing to work until he finds Anissa. I need more time to convince her to move back with me. If I can just have her for the rest of this week, then everything will be okay. We will be back in Ohio and then we leave for Washington.

I like that one. My favorite is still the Jean shorts and  the blue tank top though

Those shorts were real short. Dad would freak if he saw me in them.

Hey, what your dad don't know won't hurt him

Anissa is loving the freedom that I give her. I don't fuss about a schedule, or a curfew. She wouldn't listen anyways, so why waste my time. It's easier to be a friend to my daughter then a parent. 

Okay how about this one?

Nah, I still like the other one better.

Alright you win, I will pick the Jean shorts with the blue tank top. It's going to be real hot anyways, walking the fair

Maybe you two should go somewhere else besides the craft fair?

Like where?

I don't know, maybe a movie

Why?

I couldn't tell her that I think her father is going to show up on her date. I have kind of hinted that I have talked with Dave, and maybe have giving Anissa the impression that he knows she is with me. She does know that Dave thinks she is refusing to go back to the beach house, but she doesn't know that Dave thinks she is still missing.

You two are always with a group of people, maybe something a little more intimate would be fun.

Every time Anissa starts wanting to call her father or see him, I remind her that he will force her to go back with him, and then she will miss the art show. She quickly decides against contacting Dave 

I am suppose to meet Dylan in an hour, I don't think it's the right time to change plans.

Craft fairs are so boring, your 13 Anissa not 50

She laughs

Alright let me call Dylan and see what he thinks

At that exact moment my phone rang

Hello?

Hey babe

Steve, what's going on?

Dave was here

What?

He showed up to talk with you

What did you tell him?

I told him you went into town to get some formula 

What did he say?

He just asked if I had seen Anissa or if I knew where she might be. I told him she would probably be in Ohio by now

Did he say anything else?

Nope, just to keep him updated if we heard anything

I knew he was going to show up at the hotel. Someone is telling him shit. We need to change hotels Steve
