"calliope"

God I hated that name.

"Ma, please stop calling me that"

"It's you're name, what else am I supposed to call you?"

"Callie" I answered quickly

"I don't believe in all these nicknames, I named you Calliope so that's exactly what I'm going to call you"

My mother was a strict women, she was old fashioned and stuck in her ways. When she was alive we disagreed on a lot, including my name.

Although it didn't matter how much we disagreed, or how different we were because I knew she loved me and I hope she knew that I loved her.

I came to visit my mothers place of rest every morning before work, it was something I started doing years ago when I worked at a café just opposite the cemetery.

I looked down at my watch knowing it was time to leave if I wanted to make it to work on time.

My job wasn't exactly something  I enjoyed, I made tea and coffee for the journalists that acted like they were too busy to do it themselves. I printed and filed papers and I wasn't quite sure what else.

It should be easy to tell that Viola was the only person that I liked there.

"How's you're hand?" Viola asked

"The same as the other million times you've asked, it's fine" I smiled

"You know I'm a worrier"

It was true, she worried about everything.

"Oh but look what I'm working on this morning"

She sounded excited as she picked up some papers from her desk and held them out for me to grab. I liked how excited she got over her work. I just wish she worked for a better company. This place was barely recognised by the public.

"Disco deaths?" I questioned as I read the top line

"That's what Derek wanted to call the article, it won't be called that" she chuckled

I read through more of the printed ink and soon found that two bodies had been found in the back ally of a night club.

"The murderer is still on the loose, there was only one camera that seen anything but not the persons face. It definitely looked like a male" Viola explained

"Sounds fun" I stated sarcastically

"I'm gonna write such a great story on this- Maybe he'll strike again and then I'll get to create an awesome serial killer name for him!"

"Okay calm it down there girl" I laughed

"Calliope, Coffee now!"

Oh how I hated that man's voice. Derek, he wasn't our boss but he liked to pretend he was. He was the biggest asshole I'd ever met.
