I tossed, then I turned.
The fabric was warm and soft beneath me.
The flames, the crackling, the smell of smoke
I turned over once more but was met a hard surface, the soft fabrics was gone, the warmth was gone.
I managed to convince my eyes to open. I lay face to face with wooden floor boards.
"Shit" I huffed
I pushed myself up in to a sitting position and lent back against my bed.
I scanned the room, it was empty.
I rubbed my eyes but the darkness brought back the visions of fire.
"It's not real" I concluded
No, that must have all just been one big nightmare. A realistic and terrifying nightmare.
I chuckled nervously to myself.
"I'm going insane"
I managed to pull myself up and off the floor. Perhaps coffee would wake me up.
I slowly made my way towards the kitchen with squinted eyes since the light seemed too much to handle.
"Your alive"
My eyes now opened wide.
"Suppose I won't have to worry about discarding you're body" he chuckled
I sucked in a sharp breath.
"You"
"Yes, me darling"
I hated the humour in his eyes, I hated his cockiness, I hated him.
"Coffee?" He offered raising a cup
That's when realisation kicked in, if he was here then it was all real. That was no nightmare, i witnessed death with my own eyes.
He walked across the kitchen towards me, mug in hand before placing it down on the counter beside me.
I stumbled back away from him which only caused him to smirk.
He moved away and sat casually on the dining chair before sipping at his coffee.
"Get out" I spoke
"Is that any way to treat a guest?"
"Get out!" I shouted this time
"You're panties must be in a twist, do you need assistance with that?" He asked raising a brow
Before I could even register what I was doing, I grabbed the coffee from beside me and threw it with all my force towards Achilies.
He effortlessly ducked allowing the mug to fly over his head and smash against a cupboard behind.
He regained his composure before looking at his jacket sleeve that held some wet patches of coffee.
In my defence, most of the coffee emptied on the floor before even making it to him.
"This is a very expensive jacket Callie"
Suddenly he darted out of his seat and made a b-line straight towards me.
Acting on impulse I attempted to run to the front door needing to escape.
I only made it to the passageway when he grabbed my arm and forcibly yanked me backwards before pushing me into a wall.
He stepped in front of me now and lowered his face to mine.
"You don't want me make me fucking angry Callie!" He seethed
"Get away from me"
I could feel the tear slip from my eye now. I was completely terrified.
Suddenly his fist came in to view and I squeezed my eyes closed as tight as possible.
His fist collided with the wall beside my head. I knew his brute strength created a hole.
Better the wall then my head.
"You can't run from me" he spoke
I didn't answer, I was to scared to.
"You fucking hear me?" He yelled
His voice echoed through my ears and all I wanted to do was curl up in a ball.
I managed to nod this time, there wasn't a chance I could force words out of my mouth in this state.
"If you don't make stupid decisions then you won't be punished. Understood?"
I nodded again.
I felt his presence disappear from in front of me so I slowly peeled my eyes open.
I just caught a glimpse of his figure leaving through the door before it slammed behind him.
Unable to control my shaking body I slid down the wall into a mess on the floor.
I was pretty sure my life was over.
