TP POV:
Yoongi was in a bit of a tight spot. There was no DNA evidence on the crime scene. Ms. Gon had no traces of DNA on her besides her own.
He had asked almost every person who was aquatinted with her even for just a minute if they'd seen, heard, or felt, anything suspicious from her. No one could come up with anything.
She didn't have any enemies, no one saw anything out of the ordinary, she wasn't acting weirdly, and this most definitely wasn't suicide.
Then who the hell did it?!
Yoongi's brain was about to malfunction by the third all nighter.
And "coincidentally" no CCTV's were working during this time. There is no footage of how she ended up in an alley bleeding to death.
What's even more suspicious was that there was no signs of struggle.
She knew her murderer. That much Yoongi was sure of.
At one hand, there are no suspects. Because there is not a shred of evidence. On the other hand, there are many suspects. Because there is that one fact that she knew her killer.
Basically Yoongi was stuck.
The male sighed as he slouched forward and held his Auburn locks in his fist. A groan leaving him in frustration. "Having a tough time?" Yoongi looked up at the sudden voice.
A sigh left him as he tried to smile a little. Namjoon gave him a sympathetic smile when he noticed his red eyes droopy from not getting sleep.
"You look like shit bud" he commented sitting down on the desk Yoongi was working on. The said officer scoffed as he took the mug of coffee his best friend offered.
"I feel like shit too" he grimaced and chugged down the piping hot beverage. Namjoon physically winced as he saw the male gulp down the steaming hot liquid without so much as a flinch.
"How do you do that!" He asked absolutely mortified. Yoongi just stared at him and shrugged. "hey, when you're busting through your third day with no sleep, only surrounded by murder and blood, a hot cup of coffee is the least of your worries my friend. You stop feeling the sting" he babbled out his nonsense.
"Fuckin bullshit. There is no way you didn't feel the burn. One of these days you're gonna seriously injure yourself dude" Namjoon just shook his head in disbelief.
"Yeah yeah, do you have any info that can be useful or am I going to lose another night worth of sleep?" He asked, he looked absolutely exhausted. Namjoon felt bad seeing his dark circles.
"Sorry mate. I have nothing. Did you question the twins?" He asked. "No. I still have a few people to interrogate and the twins are in there. How are they doing though?" He asked, he felt bad for not being able to meet the twins, he is just too busy.
But he also isn't fully to blame though. Yoongi did go to twins' house for questioning but no one answered the door. He tried calling them but no luck. He figured they were sleeping like logs as usual and moved on to the next house where he met Taehyung and Jimin.
"They aren't doing that well. Ms. Gon's death has taken a huge toll on them" Namjoon looked down on his lap and sighed. "It's understandable. I'm having a hard time and I'm sure you are too. We've known Ms. Gon almost all our lives. It's hard to believe we won't see her smiling face again" Yoongi's voice broke slightly by the end of his sentence.
Tears welling up in both of their eyes as they sat silently next to each other. It was heartbreaking. But they tried to keep themselves grounded and move forward. Sometimes it felt like the world expected too much, but they were only human. They can only do so much.
A silent tear or two left their eyes, wetting their cheeks and leaving a trace behind.
Life hardly ever seemed fair.
The twins were feeling the same. Ms. Gon was like an aunt to them. She was always nice and sweet. She was such a beautiful person with a beautiful soul.
This neighborhood was very tight knit. Everybody knew everybody. And with the years they've spent, the twins had gotten quite close with the people of this neighborhood.
So having a part of that beautiful place be ripped away so gruesomely was painful.
The twins were now wallowing is depair as they mourned for the loss. They were moping around in their house. Especially Jungkook. He was more sensitive than his brother in the emotional context.
Well, more like he showed his pain better than Jeongguk. He didn't see anything wrong with showing how he felt when he felt it. It was never hard for him. And he could be this way because he had Jeongguk there with him.
He couldn't ever describe in words how much even just Jeongguk's presence made him stronger. He was the person he was today because of his brother.
Eventhough they were barely a few minutes apart, Jeongguk really filled in on his big brother duties. More so than anyone would ever do. And Jungkook was wholeheartedly grateful for that.
"Kook, come down for breakfast bub." Jeongguk said softly when he saw his brother sitting in the middle of his bed, hair all over the place, his eyes puffy from crying the night before.
Jungkook just nodded as Jeongguk started closing the door. When he did go downstairs a few minutes later, he saw Hoseok on the couch. "Hyung?" He asked confused.
Hoseok turned to him and smiled slightly. "Morning Kook. We decided to pay you guys a visit" he said and smiled a little brighter. "We?" He asked again and immediately Jimin's head popped up from behind the couch. "Morning Jungkook" he waved slightly, it was clear from his face that he wasn't doing any better than Jungkook himself.
He waved back to him and suddenly his eyes widened a little. "Is Tae here?" He asked hopefully. The boys almost cooed at the sight.
It was sort of amusing to see someone who's built like a bull give such an innocent look. "I'm right here Kookie" Taehyung's sweet voice reached the raven's ears and soon the boy himself emerged from the kitchen. Jeongguk was following shortly behind.
"Are you doing better Kookie?" Maybe it was the way Taehyung said it, maybe it was the way he looked so concerned, something about that question made Jungkook tear up suddenly. His already sparkly doe eyes brimming like the ocean.
"Aww, baby come here" the blond softly offered and opened his arms wide. The way the male looked so vulnerable in that moment made Taehyung want to just tug him closer and shield him away from the world.
Jungkook didn't wait another second before diving into the blond's arms and nuzzling closer. His soft sobs breaking their hearts.
Taehyung rubbed his back and muttered sweet nothings. "It's going to be okay honey. Everything's going to be alright" Taehyung whispered as he patted his hair.
Jungkook didn't say another thing and buried his face deeper into the crook of Taehyung's neck as he sniffled.
