Neighborhood (Gguktaekook)

TP POV:

Yoongi was running out of his house in his uniform in the middle of the night when he got paged about another murder.

This time the guy was named Tyler Dan. He was found murdered the exact same way Ms. Gon was. Except he was murdered inside his own home.

Yoongi sighed in frustration when he walked into the crime scene. This guy was the nicest man Yoongi had known and it felt horrible to him. He felt like this was at some level his fault too. If he had caught the killer earlier then Tylor wouldn't have died.

Namjoon was already in the crime scene. No information gets past this man. The two gave each other a nod silently like they always did and they went their separate ways to do their jobs.

"What have we got so far?" He asked as he put on his gloves. "The same thing as Ms. Gon. Almost an identical copy of the previous murder. We're dealing with a serial killer I think." One of the officers explained as Yoongi examined everything.

He was looking at the guy's injuries when he got a phone call. "hey Chae. You got something for me?" He asked as he walked around the living room of the deceased.

"You gave me a DNA test to do three days ago remember? The results are finally in" the woman on the other side of the phone spoke excitedly. "That's good news. What are the results?" The auburn hair asked as he examined the widowsil.

"No DNA match from our database" she answered. Yoongi sighed frustrated. "Again? This is getting exhausting Chae" he expressed his frustration.

"I'm not done yet Yoongs" she replied instead. Yoongi stopped in his tracks as he saw something on the ground near the couch corner. "Tell me then" he said subconsciously as he reached down for the paper-like object.

"This DNA matches the unidentified DNA we found on the Gon murder case" she replied. Yoongi stared at the item in his hand with widened eyes. "Thanks for the update. Bye" he said hurriedly and hung up.

"Hey Yoongi? What's wrong?" Namjoon asked from behind him. Yoongi looked up with the same shocked expression and his face paler than usual.

He showed what he had in his hand to Namjoon and the said male went pale too. There dipped in the victim's blood was a polaroid picture.

Of  Taehyung.

"Taehyung is in danger" Yoongi said terrified. Namjoon taking in a shaky breath.

What Taehyung didn't appreciate was getting woken up at three in the morning. That too by aggressively being shaken.

"What the hell is going on?" He asked in his raspy tired voice. "Are you serious?! Do you not hear that right now Taehyung?" Jimin asked panicked, still shaking him violently.

The minute Taehyung was more aware of his surroundings the first thing he heard was the sound of loud sirens. As if they were coming right outside of their house.

The thing that really blew off his sleep was the excessive smell of something burning. Taehyung looked around alert and in panick. The red and blue lights seeping through his curtain lightly.

He realized it was the sound of fire trucks and that there was a fire somewhere. "What's going on Jimin?!" He asked quickly, scared out of his wits.

"T-the twins' house is on fire!" he exclaimed hurriedly. Now that, is what made Taehyung jump out of bed and running out of the main door like a hurricane.

The first thing he saw was fire. The large flames engulfing almost half of the twins' house. Then he saw the water and the fire trucks. The people running around and shouting out different things. Neighbors from the block looking at the huge fire absolutely mortified.

Taehyung looked around, his hand shaking from trauma. Jimin soon joining him at the lawn.

It didn't take long for their two set of eyes to find the twins. Fortunately they looked unharmed and outside one of the paramedic vans.

What was terrible however was seeing the scene unfolded before them. Jungkook on the ground screaming and crying hysterically as he blurted out slurred words, scared out of his mind. Jeongguk hugging his hysterical brother tightly in his arms as he too shed some silent tears. He was mumbling sweet nothings into Jungkook's ears as he swayed them.

"What happened?" Jimin asked as soon as they got closer to the twins. But Jungkook just clung closer to Jeongguk and cried harder.

The elder raven for the first time looked so helpless. Taehyung's eyes teared up as he saw their dusty faces and dirty clothes. They didn't even have shoes on. Well... neither did Taehyung.

The blond slowly crouched down and approached Jungkook who looked absolutely petrified. He was shaking uncontrollably and was mumbling like a madman. He seemed to be having a traumatic episode.

"Kookie? Can you hear me?" He said as softly as he could but loud enough for the raven to hear through his cries. Jungkook looked at him wide eyed and backed away, clinging even harder onto Jeongguk.

He seemed scared of Taehyung too. The look in his eyes looked like he didn't even recognize the blond. "It's me Kookie. Your babydoll. It's T-Taehyungie" Taehyung said softly as his eyes teared up.

Jungkook just blinked and stared at him with one gaze. "Hey Kook, it's okay. You know Tae. He would never ever hurt you. He's not like them bud" Jeongguk slowly coddled his brother who stared at him as if he were a scared child.

Taehyung and Jimin shared a confused look but otherwise didn't say anything. Jungkook took in a shaky breath before turning to Taehyung and suddenly leaping forward.

The blond was taken aback by the sudden force but embraced the crying male immediately. He hugged Jungkook like his life depended on it and the raven did the same.

Jeongguk patted Jungkook's back to calm him down. "You guys got someplace to stay? This is gonna take the whole night to settle down" one of the firefighters asked them.

Jimin and Taehyung shared another look and then looked at the firefighter. "Yes. They will stay with us. We live next door" Jimin said pointing to their house.

"Alright. Take them in then and make sure to keep the house ventilated so you don't suffocate because of the smoke." She advised before going back to work.

"Alright. Let's get you inside" Taehyung said and convinced Jungkook to walk with him as Jeongguk and Jimin followed.

All the way back Jungkook stuck himself on Taehyung like an octopus.
