TW: violent threats (and a terribly written chapter ;-;)

(Karl POV)

Nick hasn't done anything to move toward what I told him to do. To asking me out. I honestly kind of like it though. Like I never know when it's coming.

It's been 3 days since I gave him the note. Since he took it, technically. And there hasn't been anything yet.

I've had that song, Chills, playing 24/7. Whenever I listen to it, my lips go numb, my heart starts racing, and my hands get clammy. It reminds me of the Kiss. Capital K. It's been haunting me for two days. Nick hasn't really spoken about it. So I won't pressure him to.

(Nick POV)

Today.

It's happening today.

After the guys forced me to describe every little detail about what happened in the library (I made them super uncomfortable with the details of the kiss itself), they promised to help me set up Project Ask-Karl-Out-Publicly. So we're doing it today.

It isn't that hard to set up. I just need a speaker and a phone and bluetooth. Maybe a poster. I need a poster.

I pull out my phone.

Me: i need a poster

Skeppy: wtf for what

Bad: Hey!

Dream: why

Me: "KARL. WANT TO GO OUT WITH ME?"

Dream: oh

Bad: Which song are you going to be playing again?

Me: Chills

Me: by Down With Webster

George: didnt u preform that song for the seventh grade talent show

Me: i need a poster

Dream: haaaaaaaah

Bad: I'll make it.

Me: thx

Me: i owe u

I shut off my phone and stuff it back in my pocket before heading over to Karl's locker.

(Karl POV)

"Hey, babe," Nick says in a goofy voice. I jolt a bit as I grab another notebook out of my locker. My cheeks heat up at the pet name as I smile at him. He snickers and walks towards his locker, waving. He seems tense.

(Nick POV)

Oh my God, that was awful.

(Karl POV)

I wave at his back and continue grabbing my things.

My locker swings shut on its own and Keith stands there, sneering at me. I gasp and step back. "Heard you got a boyfriend," he says.

I shake my head because it's technically untrue. We aren't official - yet.

"Well, either way," he says, "Nick's a good dude."

What.

"If he hurts you, I'll beat him up."

I am so confused right now.

I guess he can tell.

"Look, I know I hate you, and you probably hate me, but I'm not a dickhead when it comes to the LGBTQ+ community. I'm still the first person you came out to. I'm still an ally, no matter what happens with my friends. Ok?"
