This is unedited. Sorry it took so long to update. I was debating whether or not to actually post this one but I decided to go ahead and post it. I guess I was feeling some type of way when I wrote this. This one is kind of sad and only has mentions of Pesy. I hope y'all enjoy it anyway.

Perrie's POV:

"Who are you talking to, bug?" I ask, stepping into my twelve year olds room.

Zeus lifts his head to look at me and Jazzy's head snaps in my direction.

"Huh?"

"Jasmine Nelson-Edwards, who were you talking to?" I sit beside her on the edge of her bed.

Her eyes start to water. "Mama."

Pulling her close to me, I rub her back. "I know you miss her. I miss her too."

"It's not fair! Why did they kill her but not me? Why couldn't they shoot her in the leg instead of me? It should've been me they killed, not her! You could've had another kid." Jasmine whimpers.

"I want you to listen to me very carefully, bug. I miss Mama too, but she wouldn't want you talking like this and frankly neither do I. Nobody can replace you just like nobody can replace Mama. You know if your Mama had any idea that somebody would hurt you, she would protect you at all costs, even if the cost was her life."

Jazzy pulls back from me and shakes her head.

"That's just it, she wasn't trying to protect me and I did absolutely nothing to protect her. She was shot first and I froze when the gun went off. It wasn't until I was shot that I really even reacted."

"You couldn't have protected her, bug. You couldn't have known what was going to happen. It isn't your fault, baby girl. Okay?"

Jazzy nods.

Smiling softly at her, I stand up and grab her black flats from her closet then squat down in front of her and slip them on her feet. I gently lift the bandage on her leg to check her stitches and make sure she didn't rip one when she put her leggings on.

Technically she should still be in the hospital but after everything with Jesy, we all just felt it would be better if Jazzy was at home.

"Mummy?"

"Yes Jazzy?" I fix the bandage and look up at her.

"Does this mean I have to go live with him now?"

"I want you to listen to me, bug. You are my daughter and you're not going anywhere. You'll never have to live with him."

"Promise?" Jazzy asks softly with a cute pout.

"I promise. Now, are you ready to go downstairs?"

"Can Uncle Andre bring me downstairs?"

"I'll send him up." I kiss her forehead and head downstairs. "Andre, she wants you to bring her down."

Andre heads up the stairs.

"Why doesn't she ever want me to carry her anywhere?"

I roll my eyes at Jordan's question.

"Not the time." Jade smacks Jordan's arm.

I quickly take notice of the looks Mam, Janice, Leigh, and Jade are giving me.

"What is it?" I sigh.

"Management has been blowing up our phones, they want us back in the studio." Leigh replies sadly.

"Going to the studio, doing another album, touring, all that shit is the last thing on my mind right now. My wife and daughter were shot by somebody who called themselves a fan. Jazzy is struggling with why she's still alive and Jesy isn't. Not to mention there's pictures everywhere of Jasmine cradling Jesy's body and crying her eyes out. My only priority right now is Jazzy and whoever gets mad about it is just gonna have to be mad."

By the end of my little rant, my breathing is erratic. With tears in their eyes, Leigh and Jade engulf me in a hug.

"We aren't doing anything until you're ready." Jade says softly.

They both pull back and Leigh reaches up and wipes away my tears.

Leigh says, "You take as much time as you need and you do what you need to do. If that means that you and Jazzy get away for awhile, then so be it. Jade and I can and will handle whatever we need to."

"Thank you. I don't know what I would do without you girls."

"You don't have to thank us." Leigh replies.

"That's what family is for."

I give Jade and Leigh a small smile, knowing they have my back through anything.

At the funeral

The funeral passes by in a kind of a blur. Many people get up and speak about the kind of person Jesy was, the impact she had on their life, and how she'll be missed. It's nice to hear people say all these things about her but at the same time it's difficult because I know she won't be there when we get home. We all must now go through life without Jesy physically by our sides and it breaks my heart.

Once the funeral is over, we stay back as to let the mass of people leave first. Ally, Lauren, Normani, and Dinah wait with us.

Jazzy makes grabby hands at Dinah and I know she wants cuddles from her Aunt DJ.

I hand Jazzy over to DJ. Mam and Janice each wrap an arm around me, holding me close.

"Have they no respect?" Ally mutters angrily, referring to the paps that have been circling since before the funeral started.

"She's just a headline to them. They don't care about her or about what she meant to me, Mummy, or anybody else." Jazzy says sadly.

We all remain silent, knowing the words Jazzy just spoke are the truth.

Until next time.
