After a month of living at the new house, Eren decided he needed to get a job, there was no way that Eren could afford to do or buy anything on the little birthday money he had which was dwindling on the last few dollars. So he applied at the local coffee shop for a part time job. He been accepted and today was Eren’s first shift. He was a bit nervous, but his boss had walked him through how to use the cash register. He seemed to be doing okay when Levi walked up to the counter.

“I didn’t know you worked here?” Levi said to him. He hadn’t seen Levi for a while, his hair didn’t look as messy today, it was parted nicer, the strands at the front hanging in his eyes as he ran his hand along the shaved part of his head.

“First shift” Eren told him. “What would you like?”

“Well what I would like is for someone to come with me to the museum this afternoon but since that isn’t on your menu I’ll have a green tea.” Levi sighed

“Have here or take-away?” Eren asked.

“Have here’s fine”

“Okay, I’ll bring it over when it’s ready.” Levi nodded and took a seat at a booth at the corner of the coffee shop. He pulled out a book and crossed his legs. When the tea was ready Eren walked over and sat the tea in front of Levi.

“Look I get off in an hour, I like the museum.” Eren said before walking away and going back to serving customers.

“You didn’t have to do this you know?” Levi said as they were looking at the paintings

“I know.”

“Then why are you doing this?”

“I don’t know.” Levi looked at Eren, not saying anything. “What?”

“Nothing.” Levi looked away

“No what? Why are you looking at me like that?”

“I’m not, look at the paintings Eren that’s what we’re here for.” Levi walked onto the next painting. Eren watched Levi, obviously determined to not look at Eren. He looked intensively at the painting, squinting at it.

“What exactly is this painting?” Levi asked Eren.

“Abstract.”

“I know what type of art it is, but what is depicted literately in this painting?”

“It’s art, there is no literal depiction of anything, it’s how you interpret it.” Levi looked at Eren and the two of them made eye contact for a little while. Levi’s eyes seemed to scan his face and Eren turned away, blushing.

“What?” Levi asked.

“No- Nothing” Eren stuttered.

“Hmm okay.” The two of them moved through out the museum, painting after painting. Eren stole glances of Levi as they walked, as they were looking at the paintings. Any moment he could. It was weird; Levi made him feel happy, even with his sour attitude, when Eren felt he hadn’t been truly happy in a long time. He couldn’t put his finger on it, all he knew was that he wanted to spend as much time as possible with Levi, so he could feel like that.

“So did you like it?” Levi asked Eren, the two of them were sitting in a little café, it was just on 5:00pm and they were having an early dinner.

“Yeah the art was amazing”

“So you had a good time then?”

“Yeah, of course I did.” Eren laughed. Levi kind of cracked a smile; well it was close enough to a smile for him. So then Eren laughed harder, and Levi smiled, actually smiled. Before they knew it the two were laughing, at an untold joke, something that was there but wasn’t quite.

“You have sauce on your face.” Levi pointed out to Eren, still chuckling. Eren licked his lips.

“No it’s on the corner of your mouth.” Eren went to wipe one side of his mouth.

“No the other side, never mind I’ll do it myself.” Levi wiped his thumb over the corner of Eren’s mouth and then wiped his thumb on a napkin. Both of the boys were quite for a moment, just looking at each other. Levi coughed.

“Any way if you’re finished we should get going.”

“Yeah, okay.” Eren said. They paid the bill and walked out of the café and down the road to Levi’s car.

They had been driving for maybe 20 minutes when Levi suddenly pulled off the road and laid his head on the wheel.

“What’s wrong are you-“ Eren was cut off with Levi’s lips crashing onto his. There was no warning, no preparation and Eren was quite surprised. He didn’t do anything for a moment but open his eyes really wide, when he realised he should probably kiss Levi back. Eren placed his hands around Levi’s face and Levi placed his upon Eren’s waist. They were a mess of lips and teeth and tongues, the two only stopping for breath. Levi moved away.

“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry.” Levi cringed, unable to believe what he had just done. Eren tilted Levi’s face to face him, before placing a soft kiss on the corner of his mouth and then his lips. This kiss was a lot softer and sweeter than the first, which was rushed and messy. When they had pulled apart Levi started up the car again and pulled back onto the road. The two didn’t speak the whole way back to Eren’s house.

“Oh, Eren I wanted to ask. If you would like I can drop you home after training, so Mikasa doesn’t have to come out and pick you up.”

“Are you sure?”

“If I wasn’t sure I wouldn’t have asked.”

“Oh, Okay.” Eren said, “Thanks for inviting me, I had a nice time today”

“Thanks for coming with me.” Eren nodded and stepped out of the car.

“Oh and Levi?”

“Yes Eren?” Eren leaned in and placed a small kiss on Levi’s mouth. He smiled slightly.

“I’ll see you at school brat.” Levi said, waving before driving off.

“So how was the museum?” Mikasa asked as Eren walked into the door.

“Good, really good.” Eren smiled.

“What are you smiling about?”

“Nothing, I’m not smiling about anything.”

“Okay, sure.” She said sarcastically.
