“Oh my god Eren, you and Levi? I knew it, I totally called it from the beginning”

“I didn’t even know you were gay?”

“I mean not that I have a problem with gay people but seriously, Levi?”

“I can’t believe it, you and Levi are dating, secretly?”

“Did you guys like, do it? I heard he’s very demanding.”

“So you lost your V-card to him? Gross.”

“Eren, you fag.”

“Levi’s so old, is that even legal? You’re what? Like 12?”

“Eren, you’re gay!”

“I can’t believe you like boys, that’s so disgusting”

“I don’t have anything against gays, but did you guys have to post PDA pics everywhere, it’s getting kind of annoying.”

“EREN JAEGER, I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU’RE DATING LEVI ACKERMAN!”

“So when are you going to make it Facebook official?”

Eren couldn’t take the constant messages anymore. He threw his phone at the wall, hoping it would break. He didn’t succeed in breaking his phone, although the wall was left with quite the dent. He supposed he probably should’ve taken his case off first. The messages had been going non-stop for the past couple of days, and Eren had decided that he was going to spend them in bed, letting his worries eat him up on the inside and trying to find a setting on his phone which made his notifications quieter than silent. He couldn’t believe some of the rumours that were circulating at the moment, half of them weren’t true and the other half were only half true. They weren’t dating, they most definitely did not have sex and it was not anyone’s business. This was exactly what Eren was trying to avoid, he didn’t want to have to go through this again, people jumping to conclusions, people treating him different, he couldn’t deal with it. And to top it all off he’d got seven missed calls and eighteen text messages from Levi, all of which he had ignored. He didn’t feel like talking, especially to him, what did Levi care? Everybody already knew his sexual preferences and he had the whole school wrapped around his little finger. Nobody cared what Levi did, as long as he acted the way he always acted, and talked the way he always talked and dressed the way he always dressed. But to Eren, this was a big deal, people didn’t know, he didn’t want people to know. He finally had friends; he’d finally begun to fit in. He should’ve known it was a bad idea, messing around with a boy, he should’ve pretended, that he wasn’t. Who was Eren kidding? He couldn’t pretend to be straight even if he tried. And look at where it’d got him. Mikasa knocked on his door, when he didn’t reply she walked in.

“Are you going to school today?” she asked leaning against the doorway.

“I don’t know?”

“I’m not forcing you into anything, but I think it’s a good idea if you go. Mum and Dad are getting suspicious; they keep asking me what’s wrong with you. I haven’t told them of course, but they know you’re not sick. So it’s going to get to the point where you tell them that it’s happened again, or you go to school and deal with it.”

“Easy for you to say.”
“Don’t get me wrong Eren, I know how hard it is, I’m the last person in the world who wants to see you get hurt. But you don’t know how it’s going to be? Maybe it won’t be as bad in person, maybe people are just exaggerating things on the Internet, it happens all the time.”

“I’ll go. I guess the longer I put it off, the worse it’s going to get.”

As soon as Eren had stepped onto school property, he regretted coming with every square inch of his body. He felt paranoid that all eyes were on him, even the ones he could see couldn’t care less. All the laughs and the sniggers and the whispering were all about him, even though he knew they weren’t, well not all of them. He walked to his locker and pulled out his book for first period, when Armin walked up to him.
