"Where the hell is Mikasa?" Levi was pissed off. Their group was supposed to do their presentation in twenty minutes and Mikasa was nowhere to be seen. Levi and Petra had called Mikasa multiple times, getting nothing but her voicemail. Levi was pacing, his arms crossed at he stalked around the room. His jaw was clenched and his anger bubbling as he thought about the assignment.
"I'm sure she'll turn up in a moment." Petra smiled, being her usual optimistic self. Levi shook his head.
"She isn't showing Petra, I can't believe she isn't here. You know what fuck her, we're all going to get zero on this assignment now." He spat, pushing a few books of a shelf.
"Levi calm down!" Petra exclaimed. Rushing over to pick up the fallen books.
"Don't tell me what to do." Levi muttered.
"I don't know why you're so worked up anyway, it's not like you to really care how you go in school."
"It's because she's doing this to get back at me, for breaking up with Eren." Levi yelled sitting himself forcefully on top of a desk.
"Don't be so arrogant, in case you've forgotten I'm also a part of this group and Mikasa and I are friends, she wouldn't just abandon us. She's probably just stuck in a traffic jam, or overslept, or having trouble getting Eren out of bed. She'll be here." Petra sighed. Levi rolled his eyes and picked up a book off the ground, one he'd knocked over. He studied the cover for a moment before flipping it open and beginning to read.
"You could be reading over the notes for the presentation." Levi shrugged, not taking his eyes of the book.
"What's the point?"
"Shut up would you Levi, have a little faith." Petra frowned. Levi laughed bitterly and stared up at Petra, who just rolled her eyes. They sat in silence for a while, Levi reading, Petra watching him read. As he flipped the pages nonchalantly, not really taking in any of the words, but rather just passing time, Petra tapped away on her phone.
"What are you doing?" Levi asked.
"Calling Mikasa again."
"What happened to have a little faith?" Petra rolled her eyes,
"The presentation starts in five minutes..." Petra trailed off and putting her hand up to shut Levi up when the phone started ringing, after a few rings it went to voicemail again. Both Petra and Levi groaned outwardly, Levi running a hand through his hair, stressed.
"Told you." Levi muttered. Petra shook her head and stood up.
"Well, we better go let the teacher know." Levi nodded and stood up as the two moved from the empty classroom to the empty hallway. The walked along, no sounds other than their footsteps until Petra's phone began to ring. Shuffling frantically through her bag she finally dug her phone out a triumphant look on her face.
"It's Mikasa!" she exclaimed, relief flooding her features as she pressed the answer button and placed the smartphone against her ear.
"Mikasa, where are y-" Petra was cut off by a very fast, very distressed Mikasa on the other line. He couldn't make out what she was saying, but she didn't sound too happy.
"Wait, wait, wait. Slow down a second. What's happened?" Petra asked confused. Levi gave her a 'what's going on?' look to which Petra replied with a shrug and a shake of the head. This time he heard Mikasa's voice in the same distraught tone, but slower, by the gaps in noise it sounded as if she were crying. Levi watched Petra's confused expression turn into one of horror as she covered her gaping mouth with her hand.
"Oh my god!" She exclaimed, shocked. Levi frowned. "Is he okay?" Levi tried to desperately overhear what the girl was saying on the other side of the line, but he had no luck.
