“What you got there honey?” Kelly asked coming to my side and looking over my shoulder down onto the note I was holding in my shaking hands.

My wolf wasn’t saying anything which added to my nerves, the note was in my mom’s hand writing but how could she of written it? She’s been in a coma for two days.

I couldn’t explain how I felt, it was like my gut was screaming at me to run away while my common sense recurred me that nothing was a was wrong, but right now my gut feeling was winning.

I looked over to Jay with dreaded eyes as his mom continued to read the note, her eyes growing wide with fear and panic with each word she read.

“Kelly?” Simon asked coming forward just as Kelly had finished the final line. She staggered back away from me with her hand over her mouth as her eyes were wide with terror.

“Mom?” Jayden asked curiously looking between the piece of paper, me and his mom.

“Lauren, don’t let him read it,” Kelly said in a panicked tone as Jay tried to grab the note from my hands. I snatched it away and Jay growled irritated.

“Simon, call the pack, arrange for a meeting, we need to move quickly,” Kelly ordered and Simon nodded without asking any questions.

“Jay do you remember the cabin we used to go to every summer?” Kelly asked in a rush and Jay looked between me and his mom before nodding.

“I want you to take Lauren there and wait until we come for you,” She ordered and Jay quickly shook his head.

“Why?” He asked angrily flickering his eyes over to the note I still had gripped in my hands.

“Because you are in danger,” She snapped and Simon put a hand on her shoulder. Jay and me watched her as a few tears fell from her eyes.

“Jay do as you are told, this is no time for games,” He said firmly using his alpha tone on us.

“Dad, we know what you are,” Jay fused up and Kelly nodded while Simon went quiet.

“You need to go!” Kelly said once again and Jay looked long into his mother’s eyes. A few minutes passed before Jay slowly nodded, his eyes now watery.

“Take the car,” Simon said to Jay and threw him his keys which he caught swiftly in his hand. Jay looked down at the key and then to me.

I gave him a little smile causing a few tears to fall from Jay’s eyes. “Let’s go,” He said grabbing my hand and making our way to the door.

“Lauren, can I have a word?” Kelly asked just before we reached the door. I turned around to see Kelly clinging onto Simon with tears in her eyes. I looked over to Jay hesitated for his permission and he gave a short nod.

“I will wait outside the door,” Jay said and I nodded. Jay looked over to his parents and then shut the door behind him.

“The note was about me wasn’t it?” I asked as soon as he shut the door. Kelly looked down and nodded.

I gulped back the lump that had formed in my throat and let out an unsteady breathe. “What will happen?” I asked cautiously and Simon closed his watering eyes. Never in my life had I seen Simon cry until now.

Kelly looked up at me her eyes blood shot. “The other’s will come and kill us and then come and find you,”

“Who are the others?” I asked and Kelly looked away again more tears falling from her eyes as Simon began to sob.

I waited and watched as Kelly took in deep breathes trying to clam herself. “They are a group of warlocks that kill all good supernatural creatures like us, that’s half of the reason we live in secret, we don’t know how they found out about us but we are hopeless against them, we will fight but we will all die,” Kelly explained and my heart felt like it could break.
