Therapy Sessions

(This one is gonna take place after 3x14 when everyone finds out)

Station 19
Andy's POV
8am

Robert finally scheduled his surgery it's in about a week. I still can't believe Dixon's not gonna do anything. He must be as crooked as they've said. I've been kinda nervous for what everyone's going to say about me and Sullivan. I don't need the stares and the fact Gibson thinks I'm only with him because I'm grieving just makes no since. "Herrera!" Bishop yelled. Guess I should get going. When I walked in her office I sat down in the chair from across her. "Yes captain." "So I believe, congratulations are in order." "Thanks captain." "Although I do recall me being right just didn't have the small detail." "And what's that?" "You're marriage." "Was there another reason you sent me in here captain besides to insult my marriage?" "Oh yes, I'm having you do more sessions with the therapist, Diane." Maya Why?" "You need it. You just lost your father and you've obviously not been thinking straight since you got married the day after." "With all do respect captain I think I can make reasonable well thought out decisions. My Dad has always taught us is to keep moving forward." "Okay, but you're still taking 1 therapy session if she clears you you can work for the rest of the shift if not all your shifts will be therapy until she clears you." Hmm a part of me thought she would've at least apologize for everything that happened a couple weeks ago. Let's just get this therapy session over with

Texts with Andy and Robert
R: hey, how'd it go?
A: not good, she's making me take therapy sessions until Diane clears me
R: well it shouldn't take long
A: unless she takes one look at me and thinks I'm a trainwreck
R: you're not a trainwreck just don't have a meltdown in front of her and she'll probably clear you.
A: I wish you were here.
R: the moment I finish going over some things with Dr. shepherd I'll be there. She went to prepare CT to see if my condition has changed.

Therapy session

"So, What are we discussing first? My newly marriage, my dads passing, me and maya?" Andy said. "I'm here to talk about anything you want to talk about." Diane said. "What made you want to stop being a firefighter?" "I didn't want to stop being a firefighter I injured out. You said newly marriage? You and...." "Sullivan yeah we got married a couple weeks ago. My father walked me down the aisle."  "Was that the only reason you did it so he could walk you down the aisle?" "No, I did it because I love him and I wanted my father to have a chance to see me marry the man I love." "What if your father wasn't dying, would you still have gotten married?" "I think we would've, maybe not as early as we did." "Do you regret it?" "I had some second thoughts but when I saw him it was clear and those second thought left so no I don't regret it." "What about you and your captain? Sensing a lot of tension there." "I don't get it we used to be best friends and just when I was about to forgive her she went out and threatened to expose my relationship." " She threatened to do her job? Because that's against the rules so for her not too she put her job on the line along with you and your husbands." "Can we take a break?" "Sure we're almost done anyway." Andy walked out and started thinking maybe she was right Maya didn't deserve most of the things she was blaming her on. She went to the kitchen grabbed an apple and went back to the  room. "Did your father approve of you dating your battalion chief?" "Not right away, but we all had a lunch together and he got on board." "And when was the last time you talked to your father?" " The day before he died. I went over to his place and he was telling me about how he wanted to leave something or do something important he wanted to donate his body to the FACT (Firefighter Association Cremation Transition) a program that was working on the cancer that most retired firefighters get for risking there lives. They're looking for ways to prevent more firefighters from getting it. And now he can't donate anything to them." "I think we're done for today." "Am I cleared?" "I'll need to discuss this with Captain Bishop first."

Andy walked out and tried to escape people by going straight to her bunk. "Andy? What's wrong?" Ben said "Nothing, just therapy really I'm fine." "You sure?" "No but I will be." Ben leaned in and gave Andy a hug and then he walked away. Meanwhile with Diane and Maya: "so how'd it go? Is she cleared?" "She's going through a lot seems like and she's juggling it just fine not clearing her would just make everything worse for her." Diane heads for the door stops looks at maya and says, "Seems like she could really use her best friend but it might be hard since both are to stubborn to apologize." Maya walks out of her office and heads to the bunks looks for Andy. She opened it and it looked like she was sleeping but she started talking anyway. "Hey Andy, I just wanted to apologize, I've been a real jerk. I should've been happy for your relationship and I'm sorry for what happened to your dad, for what I said a couple weeks ago I'm just sorry and I want us to go back to before." Andy sits up and says "I'm sorry too let's just put all of this behind us and go back to normal. So they sat in the bunk and filled each other in on everything and anything.
