Intervention

The first week of February, I decided to do something to help Draco. I saw him come around the corner on the third floor. I grabbed him and dragged him into the nearest empty classroom.

"Ow, what the hell?" he said as I dropped his arm and locked the door. I shoved him into a desk. "What the hell is your problem?" he whisper yelled.

"Draco, what is your problem?" I asked as I looked at him. "I'm your friend and I love you, but there's something going on. You look like shit, you hardly show up for lunch or dinner, and you're avoiding me. This is an intervention, so talk, mister."

He stared back at me like I was crazy, and for a split second, I saw fear cross his face. "I don't have to tell you anything," he said.

"Please, Draco," I said as I reached out to touch him, "I will always be here to listen." I was about to touch him, when he shot his hand out and whacked mine away. It stung a little but I didn't pay it any mind, he was my first priority.

"I don't need you to patronize me," he said. "I'm not doing anything."

"Draco, please," I said as I took a step back from him. "If you won't tell me, at least come back into my life. I miss you."

"I-I," he started eyes darting around searching for an exit.

"I will not take no for an answer, Draco Malfoy," I said sternly and I stepped right up into his face. "I love you," I whispered and I leaned in and kissed his cheek. When I pulled back, I could see on his face that there were a million things going through his head. He stood there for a few more moments. Then he reached out and placed his hands on the sides of my face and brought our faces closer.

He kissed me hard and passionately. A million things being said in one kiss. I love you. I will never let you go. I want you here with me forever. I will always protect you. And, no matter what, you will always be mine. Alex never kissed me like that. It almost made me cry because I felt the exact same way towards Draco.

I kissed him back with an equal amount of pressure and passion. His hands moved from my face, to my waist and mine moved up to wrap around his neck.

Guilt started welling up inside of me. I didn't want it to end, but like everything in life, it had to.

I pulled away and moved back.

"Draco," I said slowly, choosing my words carefully. "I love you, I really truly do, but I'm with Alex and, well, he's too nice to cheat on and I can't break up with him a second time. I'm sorry." I kept my eyes down. I heard him step forward and his fingers went under my chin and he lifted my face to look at him.

"I will always love you, Tammy," he said his voice sounded like honey. Color looked like it was coming back to his pale, ghostly figure. "So I will wait for you, always," and with that he gave me a light peck on the forehead and walked out of the room.

I stood there for a few seconds before I pulled myself together and walked out of the room. I didn't get what I wanted, but I felt like I got what I needed.

He had disappeared by the time I came out. I sighed and headed to my next class, completely missing lunch and the fact that someone saw Draco leave the room and me a few moments later, a nosy brunette, who never knew when to shut her damn mouth, Lavender Brown.
