Harry and I

A couple days later, I was alone again. Draco was busy, everyone was busy. So during my free period I found myself wandering the grounds and finally settling on the grass by the lake with my legs stretched out. The snow had melted and the days were getting gradually warmer.

I heard footsteps coming toward me.

"Hey Tammy," I heard him say. I turned around and smiled at the voice.

"Hey, Harry," I said as I patted the grass next to me. "Come sit." He sat down and stared out across the lake. "So what brings you out here on this fine lovely day, Harry?" I asked after a couple of moments.

He shrugged. "Everything is getting complicated, Tammy. I don't know what to do!" he exclaimed as he fell backwards onto the grass. I followed suit.

"What's wrong, Harry?" I asked.

"Everything," he groaned. "Dumbledore is expecting me to do so many things and I don't even know where to start with them," he said as he put his arms over his face. "I don't even know what half of those things are, he kind of just expects me to know exactly what he wants when he needs me to, and most of the time I don't. It's really frustrating."

"You don't have to tell me, but you could always tell Ron and Hermione you know," I said as I rolled onto my side and faced him. "They are your companions and they will help you in everything you do."

"I'm not supposed to tell anyone," he said.

"You need help, they can help you," I said back.

He sighed. "You're right. I trust them with my life," he said thoughtfully. "How's your life going, Tamz?" he asked as he rolled onto his side to look at me too.

"Well...."

Harry and I had been lying out on the grass for an hour or two, before we made our way back inside, arm in arm and laughing. Even if we just found out this year that we were siblings, it feels as if we had known each other our whole lives.

I never knew so much about my brother until we were lying in the grass talking about everything and nothing. It was therapeutic almost. It got our minds off of everything as we compared childhoods and stories of adventure.

He was having problems with his life, and if anything, they were a thousand times worse than mine. I promised to help him in any way that I could.

He found that he wasn't the only one with problems in his life. It kind of put some perspective on life for him. We had a mutual understanding of our situations.

Before dinner, we got up and had walked back to the castle. We said our goodbyes at the Great Hall and we went to our separate common rooms to get ready for dinner.

I walked slowly to the common room. When I got there, the room was empty. I made my way down the hall to my room. But when I reached my door, I stopped. I turned back around and headed for the boys hall.

I made my way down the hall slowly. I stopped at the last door at the end of the hall. I stared at it for a while before slowly turning the knob.

I walked inside. It smelled like him. The smell reminded me of home, wherever home was, it would definitely be where he is. I couldn't help but wonder if I had made the right choice to continue dating Draco even through all of the complications set in our future. It was going to be tough, we just had to be tougher that's all.

He missed classes, breakfast, lunch, and dinner almost every day. I only saw him when I brought him food every once in a while, when he would come to my room and sleep some nights and when he'd come to Potions class.

I sat on his bed and my gaze wandered over the room finally ending on a picture on his bedside table. A picture of me and him together. It was taken when we were together before break. We were sitting by the lake and I was sitting between his legs with his arms wrapped around me. We were watching the sunset and I turned around in the picture to kiss him and we smiled. It was an amazing moment in my life.

I wanted more moments like that. I wanted the rest of my life to be like that. But that wasn't going to happen. Not when I was the Chosen One's sister who has Elemental powers and I was expected to kill my brother and he was a Death Eater trying to help Voldemort rise to power again. Our future was clouded and there was no way to determine if we would come out alive or not.
