"Izuku! Come on, wake up!" Denki jumped on my bed, forcing me to groan and rolled away from him. I was not ready to wake up. I could feel Denki leaning over me, resting his arms and head on my side. "Don't tell me you stayed up again."
"Fine. I won't tell you." I buried my head in the pillow as Denki pouted and got off me. For a second I wondered if I had angered him and if I should go talk to him, then he returned. He rolled me onto my back, placing a tray on my lap.
He was beaming was too brightly as he snuggled into my side. "I got you your favourite," he whispered uncertainly. True to his word, he had. I glanced at Denki, taking in every feature on his face. I stared at the cute blush that covered his cheeks and messy hair only I got to see.
"Thank you." I planted a light kiss on his forehead causing him to blush more. He tried to cover his face in my chest as I smirked. "Don't hide, it's cute." Denki groaned, hiding more. I picked up my chopsticks, slowly making my way through the meal. It wasn't the best in the world but it was made by Denki and that made it amazing to me.
"Izu, where are you?"
I tilted my head at the strange question, looking at Denki in confusion. "I'm right here."
"No, you're not!"
"Denki?"
"Where are you?! Why did you leave?! I told you not to leave!" Slowly, everything around us melted away, the darkness spreading out and covering Denki. "Why did you abandon me?! Why did you choose him over me?!"
"I didn't!"
"Then why weren't you with me?" The darkness had fully covered Denki. In a second, he was gone.
"Denki! No no no no! Where are you?! Denki!"
"Izuku! Wake up!"
Screaming, I fought against the arms holding me. The lights flickered. My heart broke.
Boom!
My ears rang as I hugged my legs, sobbing my pain out. I could hear voices running into the room, yelling in fright from the damage. I ignored them. They weren't Denki.
"Izuku?" Katsuki sat by my side, pulling me into a tight embrace. He rubbed my back soothingly as I clung to him like a lifeline. "It's okay Izuku. We're going to find him. It's going to be alright."
"Why him...? Why did they have to take him?" My tears soaked into Katsuki's hoodie. My body shook heavily.
"I don't know. I wish I knew." Katsuki held me until I was drained of everything. This had been going on for days. Ever since I first woke up and learnt Denki was missing. Ever since I knew they had taken him. I wanted Denki back. Why did I ever leave his side?
~~~
Katsuki closed the door behind him, sighing as he rubbed his eyes.
"How is he?"
Glancing up, Katsuki shook his head to answer Kirishima's question. The gang hung around the door every day hoping for a miracle recovery. "He didn't cause a blackout this time so I guess it's progress." Hitting his head back, Katsuki swore under his breath. This was stupid. He should know how to help his brother!
"I never knew Dekiru was so powerful," Mina muttered, scratching her cheek. The other's shook their heads. The ability to cause these electrical surges had been a surprise for all of them. On his worst one- only a few hours after he had found out- he caused a national blackout that took three hours to be sorted.
"He's in pain, his Quirk is reacting to try and protect him," Sero announced with his head lowered.
"It's more than that." Katsuki glared at the extras. "He's not just in pain. He's blaming himself. He came to save me and left Pikachu behind. His quirk isn't just reacting to his pain, he's forgetting how to control it."
A long silence followed this announcement. They had to do something but they had no idea of what to do. Shaking his head, Katsuki pushed himself away.
"Woah, Bakubro, where are you going?" Kirishima got in the way, holding Katsuki in place.
"I'm going to talk to Kakashi! I may not know what that guy's deal is but he's a friend of Dekiru! He will help!" Pushing past Kirishima, Katsuki stormed away. Kirishima sighed for a second before charging after Katsuki. "Wait up Bakubro! We'll help too!"
~~~
Restlessly, I turned in my bed. I didn't want to go to sleep again. I can't keep facing those dreams. They're horrible. They haunt every second of my life and play in a constant loop in my head.
I just want Denki back.
Staring out the window, something caught my eyes. What the...? Pushing myself up, I threw off the tubes that stuck in my arms. I pulled on a proper outfit and stepped out of my room. I ignored the weak feeling in my legs. Ignored the way it was hard to keep them up let alone moving. My heart pounded irregularly, making it hard to focus on the path.
I pushed open the back door, taking in the cold air. I shook slightly as I walked up to the group I had spotted from my window. Katsuki, Kirishima and Kakashi all hovered in the centre of a clearing. They seemed to be waiting for something. Hiding behind a bush, I caught my breath. Maybe I shouldn't have done this but whenever Katsuki was sneaking around it meant he was doing something stupid.
Eventually, just when the trio was about to give up, someone entered from the hospital. Yaoyorozu walked forward with what looked like a small device in her hand. She started lecturing the group on not using their Quirks to fight since it was illegal. Were they planning to fight some villains?!
My mind started to self-destruct when I spotted Todoroki walking out. He said something I couldn't hear but I was sure 'Endeavour' was one of those words.
Were these people trying to repay me? I have done nothing for them. I'm pretty sure I've told them all to leave me alone at one point or another. Why would they help?
"Are you coming out, Dekiru, or are you gonna keep hiding there?!" Katsuki glared at me as I stepped out. He looked like he was about to lecture me when I rushed forward and tackled him into a hug.
"Thank you. But I'm not letting you rescue my boyfriend without me."
Katsuki didn't look convinced that I should come but he couldn't turn me away. I'll be coming one way or another. "Fine. But anything goes wrong and you're gone!"
"Sure sure Katsuki."
Smiling, I bowed to everyone, thanking them. As Kakashi tackled me into a hug, I realised it.
We can get Denki back.
