~Three Years Ago~
Kakashi rushed down the road. The crisp snow crunched under his feet. He was late. Charlie was going to kill him. Pulling his scarf higher, Kakashi didn't have time to react as he spun around the corner and skidded on some ice.
Screaming echoed as Kakashi collided with someone else. Groaning, he rubbed the back of his head and blinked his eyes open.
"Hey, are you okay?"
Kakashi glanced to the side, spotting the person he had hit. His heart stopped. The tall blond held out his hand to Kakashi. His beady eyes glistened in worry as Kakashi blushed. "Yeah, but shouldn't I be asking you that." Kakashi took the hand, stumbling a little to his feet as the blond helped him stabilize. He blushed harder from the hand on his waist.
The blond tilted his head in confusion, pressing his palm against Kakashi's forehead. "You're burning up. Come on." He took Kakashi's hand, pulling him down the road.
"Wait! Where are you taking me?!"
"Don't worry, just somewhere warm."
"Eh?!"
~~~
Kakashi fidgeted, glancing around the living room. The place was so fancy! He pulled his knees closer to his chest as he shivered.
"Done!" The blond walked out of the kitchen, holding two mugs of steaming hot chocolate. He frowned when spotting Kakashi, putting the mugs down and skipping to the side of the couch. He opened a large wooden box, pulling out two thick blankets. He threw the blanket around Kakashi, warming him up.
Kakashi sipped at the hot chocolate, sending small glances to the boy next to him. "I never got the chance to ask your name. What is it?
"I'm Mirio. Mirio Togata!" Mirio posed, causing Kakashi to giggle. "What about you stranger? What's your name?"
"Kakashi... Aren't you worried I'm dangerous? I'm a stranger you dragged in off the street."
Mirio laughed- the sweet syllables causing Kakashi's stomach to flip. "I couldn't think you were dangerous cause if I did that I would have to assume everyone on the street was dangerous and that's no way to live."
"That could get you killed."
"Or it could get me a friend. Like you. You're my friend now."
~~~
"You got into UA! That's so cool!" Kakashi kicked his head above his head. Since he had met Mirio a year ago, they had gotten closer and Kakashi's blush had gotten stronger.
"Yeah, it is! I start in a few weeks. I'm going to be a hero!" Mirio laughed to himself, giddy from the excitement. Kakashi closed his eyes, imagining Mirio being there. He saw Mirio jumping around excitedly, holding out the letter of acceptance. "What about you Kashi? You got the letters back yet?"
Kakashi sighed, rolling over to lay on his back. "Four rejection letters, one sitting on my desk that I don't want to open."
"Is that the one you actually wanted to get in?"
"Yeah but I don't think I will."
"Why? You're an amazing artist!"
"I'm not good enough."
"I think you are."
"And that's why you're not an artist."
"Kakashi. What did we talk about? You're an amazing artist, stop beating yourself up. Now open the letter."
Kakashi sighed, rolling over and walking towards the desk. It was weird how a small pristine letter could cause so much anxiety.
"And the answer is?"
