Jeremy Part Three:
Salashida's choice part two
Salashida's P.O.V.
I watched as Siralanda turned to Jeremy to inform him of the usual procedures and regulations as was customary, before quickly walking towards her own quarters. Why had she left so suddenly? I just didn't undersand it at all! Our conversation had been going great!
"What was that all about?" Jeremy asked me.
"I have no idea." I replied as we continued gazing in the direction she had gone for a few moments before entering our lodging and turning in for the night.

The next morning Jeremy did nothing but train. I, on the other hand, had taken the oportunity to spend time with Siralanda and catch up with her on all I had missed during these past few months. She was currently telling me of the arrogant young trainee who thought he could disobey Vorsheen and get away with it.
"Then he had the audacity to tell Vorsheen that he didn't feel like training. Well, I think you know pretty well what happened next. Theres always one in every new trainee enrollment." she concluded.
"Yes indeed. There always is one. I think it is safe to assume that that will never change." I said.
"May I be so bold as to ask why you ran off last night in the middle of our conversation without any explanation?" I asked giving her a curious look.
"No you may not." she said bluntly. "And you also may not ask me why my Malteel glowed. We shall leave it at that." she said with a hint of malice in her voice.
"Alright. Then I won't ask again." I said in a sincere tone.
She gave me a look of surprise and then looked away from me, returning her gaze to the battle in the training arena.
"Why do you seem so surprised that I am letting it at that?"
"I expected you to require more information from me even though I said to let it be." she replied with a look of sadness.
"Ah. I will not ask for any more enlightenment on the matter." I informed her.
We sat there in silence watching Jeremy battle Vorsheen. It seemed to be an even match though I placed my confidence on Jeremy. You could clearly see that Vorsheen was becoming tired, and yet Jeremy was not even showing signs of fatigue from the long battle. They had been at this for the past two hours.
"I think that's enough for now." Vorsheen wheezed. "Return here in exactly four hours. Bring Salashida and make sure you are wearing your armor, as well as Salashida. I will teach you some moves that even you do not know yet."
I turned away, knowing exactly what he was talking about. I frowned at the thought of ever having to use the Dontavel. It was only known by the most expert of fighters. It was very dangerous and rarely ever worked.
"Do you think he is ready for that yet?" Siralanda asked worriedly.
"I'm not sure. He could be, but then again he may not have the ability to do it when the time comes. And since you cannot practice it you can not be sure of yourself till the moment comes, if it ever does." I replied.
"I know. You must remember, my master used it. I am here, but it wasn't successful." she reminded me.
I had forgotten that she had once had a master. Her name was Loren. I thought of all the time I had spent around Siralanda and Loren. All the memories, and all the saddness after she was gone.
"I had forgotten." I murmured.
Siralanda sat up and stared at me hard and long before turning from me. I could tell she was hurting and I had made her angry.
"I am sorry Siralanda. I don't mean I have forgotten. I mean I had forgotten. I could never forget all those years we spent together. Those were some of the happiest years of my life, with you and Loren. I would never dare to forget. I promise." I assured her.
"It's been so long. I can't even remember what it is like to be so happy." She turned to me and I could see the distance in her eyes. "I don't even know how I am living on without her."
I noticed her Malteel started to glow faintly again.
'Siralanda. What are you hiding from me?' I asked privately.
'I am hiding nothing from you.' she stated angrily. 'And you would be wise to learn your place. I am the daughter of a Tresule! You are forbidden from trying to win me over.' she spat suddenly, breaking the calm innocent feel of our convorsation and changing it to one of awkwardness and hurt.
I blinked in surprise. What was she saying. She couldn't mean that could she? I thought we had made a conection. I guess I was mistaken about something.
'I didn't realize that was the way you felt.' I said remorsefully. 'I will leave you be from now on.'
I turned away from her, leaving her with a shocked expression on her face, and walked back to my quarters. Whether the expression was for what she had said or what I had said before walking away, I couldn't tell. How could she say that. She couldn't feel that way towards me.
I know your hiding something from me. You must be.
I suddenly felt a wave of saddness and depression so great that I felt as if the world was on my back and all I wanted to do was go to sleep.
"And that's just what I'm going to do." I muttered. Maybe it will make more sense later. Little did I realize that the consequences of my actions were greater then anything I could have imagined.
