09. Underworld
You bring me asphodels every single day.
Raindrops oftentimes fell as I lay.
I wait for you to come home, but you never did.
I was left to collect your pearls and feel the cold wind.
When I gave you my lily, you gave me a red dahlia.
Now I find myself feeling as old as the Renaissance.
You stained me like the bloodstain on the sheets.
Dying flowers covered the forsaken streets. You were in the woods with a woman named Apate.
I was left haunted, watching my growing love like a soaring tree.
I thought the two of us were called love.
Now I pack my things on the date hereof.
I forced my love back into my bag,
Sweeping my skeletons under the rag.
You find me still, and I come back.
No applause nor cheers were heard from the claque. If love was to feel heavenly like,
Why did every second with you feel like I was a lost kite?
Unable to reach down nor to find help when I go up,
Left alone in the ruins while you sip in your cup.
Everything was nothing but hoax felicity.
If only I realized that your only intention was to put me in vorticity.
I wash the crimson sheets in despair,
Amicable terror swindling, for I am only an affair. In shadows deep, our love concealed,
A hidden flame, forever sealed.
Through the veils of night, our souls entwined,
Bound by desire, forever enshrined.
In the midst of shadows, a bittersweet dance,
Our hearts are entwined in a forbidden romance.
Tangled in sheets with our bodies curled,
But I'd still come to you to the underworld.
