13. Lost In The Shadow

In the realm of majestic peaks, where heaven meets the earth,
I am a nymph, hidden in nature's birth,
A supposed ethereal being longing to be seen,
Craving solace in a world so serene.

Amidst this enchanted realm, a breathtaking sight,
Nymphs of beauty, captivating the light,
And I, the unseen one, yearn to break free,
To be noticed, cherished, and truly seen by thee.

When I gather with friends, a painful truth unfolds,
Men flock to their radiance, their stories untold,
While I remain invisible, lost in the shadows' might,
Aching for a moment to shine, to claim my own light.

When will the day come that they'll see me too?
When will my presence evoke a love so true?
Must I alter my body, carve it to their desire,
To ignite their passions, to set their hearts on fire?

Should I reshape my face, cut away what I am,
Just to fit into a mold, a flawed, empty sham?
Must every part of me change, conform to their mold,
To taste the sweet nectar of love, or so I've been told?

Oh, how I envy the radiant nymphs, graced with adoration,
While I linger in the shadows, consumed by isolation,
For I am a nymph, forsaken by love's sweet caress,
A wretched embodiment of my own distress.
