36. A Letter To Frog
Dearest Frog, I oft' wonder where you trod,
What is it like in a science lab and understanding it so broad?
A week or so ago, our paths converged, I said 'hi,'
But your reply nearly made me say goodbye.
You spoke that name, a relic from the past,
A moniker forgotten, cast aside so fast,
Did you forget, or did you now recall,
The person who once bore it, standing tall?
I've even lost the date, your birth, my friend,
Is it the start of forgetting, or the bend,
In time, where memories sweetly intertwine,
Recalling days when your friendship was mine.
Time rushes on, and I, too, long to flee,
To relive our hallway moments, carefree,
Yet, in this present, I find solace still,
In knowing once, our hearts did deeply thrill.
The bond we forged, though years have come and gone,
Endures, its strength, a steadfast, glowing dawn,
A simple smile, amidst life's grand array,
Can bridge the years, and brighten up our day.
So, with these lines, I send my warm regards,
Our friendship's tale, like constellations, stars,
In the vast cosmos of life, forever gleams,
A cherished memory, in the realm of dreams.
Your dear friend,
Cat the archer (A katipunera soon)
