28. When Will Your Heart Be Free?

Dearest Iris, in your radiance, you did appear,
A spotlight in the hall, all else disappeared.
Your skin, a canvas, tan and beautifully bright,
Eyes like almonds, aglow in the softest light.

Raven curls framed your visage, a midnight cascade,
Pink lips, a whisper of roses in the evening's shade.
Yet, a shadow veiled my joy, as you held his arm so tight,
Iris, when did your heart turn to the day from the night?

A man, Iris, by your side, in wedlock's embrace,
Does your heart truly reside in this new-found place?
I cannot bear to see you with a loveless tie,
For I, dear Iris, yearn to catch your teardrops when they fly.

Iris, a yearning burns, deep within my core,
I cannot leave Luminaire without you, that's for sure.
In this land of fairies, where shadows creep and sin may dwell,
Our love, my dearest Iris, was never tainted, and I know you can tell.

Love, pure and true, could never be a sin's disguise,
In the garden of our memories, it forever lies.
I beseech you, Iris, with a heart that's torn in two,
I must see you once again and hear your voice so true.

Don't let our bond dissolve in the night's endless sea,
Together we must strive, for love, for you, for me.
My plea resounds, let us find a way to be,
Tell me when, Iris, when will your heart be free?

With fervent hope and love's enduring grace,
Nyx
