21. Sun

To the sun, my distant and silent confidant,
How are you? Art you well? I know not,
For your lips of golden fire hold no voice,
Yet still, I hope you hear me by your own choice.

A week has sailed since our last embrace,
Since then, I've languished in secluded space.
Nausea seized me, disgust gripped my core,
Oh, how I wished you hadn't witnessed my uproar.

What thoughts danced in your radiant sight,
As you beheld my wretched, pitiful plight?
Did you deem it my fault, this ill-fated day,
For donning the dress my mother did array?

Too vibrant, perchance, or too revealing,
But it was meant for Gaia's temple, appealing.
Did it transgress, with audacity untamed,
Or was I too friendly, my fault proclaimed?

And could you judge my smiling face,
As the cause of misfortune's embrace?
Is mirth now condemned, a forbidden lore?
Oh, how I treasured smiles, now forevermore.

What notions possessed me, venturing alone,
Seeking a tome, a gift for my mother's throne.
Under your scorching gaze, radiant and fierce,
Yet, I question, was it my fault, my pierce?

Aware I was, of the garden's perilous might,
Yet my dwelling, my sanctuary, should be alight.
Why did the travelers encroach on sacred ground,
Where serenity dwelled, temple's whispers profound?

Near the temple's sacred ground, they tread,
Causing my heart to fill with dread.
How did this calamity come to pass?
And was it I who caused this trespass?

I shall never know your secret musings, dear sun,
But the verdict is cast, their judgment is done.
They lay the blame upon my hapless soul,
In their eyes, my guilt, their accusations toll.

And now, to gaze upon thy luminous face,
With smiles forever vanquished, erased.
Oh, sun, I fear I can no longer find solace,
For sorrow claims my visage, in relentless embrace.

In this realm of remorse,I reside,
Regret now my companion, forever tied.
The sun's embrace, once a source of delight,
Now veiled in shadows, a shattered light.

With pen and heart burdened by rue,
Iridessa.
