The rapid beeping of your alarm woke you, causing you to groan sleepily and frantically move your hand around the bedside table in need of finding your phone. Once you found it, you turned the alarm off, peering at your lock screen to see that Natasha had messaged you.

Natasha: Meet me on the quinjet at 8. Not a second later. And don't bother asking Steve to change the rota. I already tried.

You left her on read, still not having forgave her for what she said yesterday. You groaned and stood up heading into your bathroom, turning on your shower. You carefully removed your bandages and flexed your hand, rotating it to admire the bruises and swollenness and stretched your fingers. You ran them under the water checking your shower was warm enough and then stepped in. You let the warm water run down your back, through your hair and over the front of your body, it immediately sending you into a daze. After you'd washed your hair and body, you turned off the shower and got out. Wrapping a towel around you and walking back into your room, drying yourself off and getting into your outfit for the day, choosing to wear something more comfortable for the long ride ahead of you. You packed all the necessities you'd need and headed for the quinjet.

You arrived at bang on 7:58 am, Natasha was already there running through all her guns and checking they had enough ammo. The second she saw you she took her seat at the front of the quinjet, ready to drive and telling you to buckle up so you wouldn't jolt out of your seat as you lifted off.

"Where are we even going?" You finally spoke up after around 20 minutes.

"The Bahamas. HYDRA thought it was a good idea to build a base there, we're in charge of taking it down. It's only a small one which is why only the two of us are going."

"If it's such a small base then why do we need 4 days? Surely we can get it done in one."

"Because we don't know where it is. All we know is that it's in the Bahamas. Now, will you stop with the 1,000 questions?"

She still hadn't given you an apology yet for her lashing out at you last night and yet she was still making rude remarks, so you decided to go and sit with her up-front and try and make amends for the next 4 days.

"Look, I get it ok. You hate me, I hate you. And I know that neither one of us are thrilled about spending the next few days together. But can we just stop the arguing? I'm not saying we have to be friends or anything but can we please just stop bickering with each other at every chance we get."

She sighed. Putting the quinjet into auto-pilot and turning to face you.

"I'm sorry for what I said last night." She spoke quietly. Using all her willpower to apologise to you. "I don't know why... but I guess I was hurt by you telling me you didn't want to go on this mission with me. Which is stupid really because I hate you and I'm pretty sure you feel the same way. So can we just forget about it for now and try and enjoy our time together?"

"Did Natasha Romanoff just apologise?" You were shocked not only by the fact that she apologised but also by the fact that she said she was hurt by you. If she hated you so much, why would she have been looking forward to spending time with you? And the only thing you could think of doing at that moment was making a joke. But that was the worst thing you could've said at this moment knowing the way she'd react.

Her face dropped back to the stoic expression she always gives you as she stood up and walked away to the back of the quinjet doing anything she could to keep herself from looking at you or talking to you. You knew you messed up. She had just let herself be soft with you and instead you decided to rile her up. You internally cursed at yourself knowing there was no way in hell she was going to stay at least civil on this trip anymore.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean that. I was just trying to lighten the mood okay? I wasn't sure what to say and that was the first thing that came to mind." You pleaded. But she just gave you silence in return.

You sighed. Putting in your headphones in and resting your head on the window.
