You and Natasha had packed your stuff, checked out of the hotel and were now on the quinjet heading back to New York. Nat had put the jet into auto-pilot for a while so that she could come and talk to you.

"You okay?" She asked, interrupting your thinking pattern as she sat down next to you, putting an arm around your shoulders.

"What're we gonna tell the team. Y'know, about us?" You asked carefully, unsure on whether she'd be ready to tell them or not yet.

"Whatever you wanna tell them. I'm ready if you are, but if you're not there's no pressure."

You rested your head on her shoulder and she rested her head on top of yours.

"Maybe we could just let them figure it out for themselves?" You suggested.

"If that's what you want." Nat kissed the crown of your head. "It's kind of ironic how Tony sent us on this mission hating each other and now we're coming back, dating each other."

You laughed. "So, how about we go in there and pretend to hate each other still instead. They'll be expecting his plan to work, we shouldn't let his ego get the best of him now should we?" You smirked.

"I like the sound of that," Nat said, amused.

"Me too." You looked up at her and kissed her softly, smiling at each other when you pulled away.

"Do you know if you're signing the accords or not yet?" She asked you. Immediately shifting the mood. You suddenly focused on the floor, now finding it more interesting.

"I don't know. None of it seems right. I mean, we're not that bad, right?" You spoke sadly.

"No. But if this is what the people want so that they'll feel safe maybe it's the right thing to do." Nat sighed.

"But I don't get it. We've saved so many lives. Yeah, some people died in the process but that's, not our fault. We've worked our asses off trying to ensure that everyone's safe. I just don't get it."

"I understand what you're saying. I do, but just because it's the path of least resistance doesn't mean it's the wrong path. Staying together is more important than how we stay together."

"I guess." You sighed. Not wanting the avengers to split up. They'd welcomed you in with open arms. They were like family to you, they were family to you. After everything that had happened they'd been there for you and gave you a home, somewhere you felt safe and loved. But now that was more than likely coming to an end. "We still have three months to decide though. It's best not to stress over it."

"Yeah. At least we have each other for now." Nat suggested, trying to make light of the situation.

"Yeah." You agreed with her.

The quinjet landed outside the compound. You and Nat picked up your luggage and made your way inside. As soon as you stepped through the door FRIDAY informed everyone of your arrival, and the first to bolt straight out of his seat and towards you was Steve. He engulfed you in a hug, which was very rare when it came to the man before you. His arms wrapped around you tightly, slightly cutting off your airspace.

"Steve. Can't breathe." You struggled, patting his shoulder.

He released you from his grip and you stumbled backwards a little, trying to catch some of the oxygen he'd stopped you from getting.

"Sorry. Just glad you're okay." He chuckled, placing the palm of his hand to his forehead. "Come on. Let's go sit down somewhere and talk." He gestured for you and Nat to follow him, which you did.
