"Hey." You smiled awkwardly, shuffling your feet as you stood in the space of Nat's door frame. "Can we talk?"
"Hi." She replied plainly. "Sure, come in."
She opened the door for you as you walked further into her room, tugging on the hem of your shirt nervously. You knew Nat was mad at you right now, she's scary when she's mad to say the least. But the looks she gave you made your heart break.
"Talk then." You'd been stood there helplessly for at least a minute, now not knowing what to say.
"I'm sorry." You started.
"For which part? The part where you nearly got us all killed or the part where you completely undermined me." She spat out.
"What do you mean?" You asked.
"You were arguing with Bruce over me whilst i was sat there trying to get you to stop. I'm 33, i can defend myself. Just because were in a relationship doesn't mean i need you to fight my fights, especially when there wasn't a fight in the first place." Nat ran a hand through her hair angrily.
"Babe your overreacting. I was pissed at him okay? He hurt you and you clearly didn't plan on saying anything anytime soon. And us being in a relationship is exactly what that means. It makes your problems my problems. Look i came here to make-up, not fight."
She just scoffed, saying nothing.
"I'll be in my room if you need me." You left without sparing her another glance, hoping that she'd come to find you when she'd calmed down some more.
[•••]
There was a knock at your door and you fumbled out of bed hoping for it to be Nat, but your smile faded when you realised it was Wanda, and clearly she noticed because she spoke up on it.
"Nice to see you too." She joked.
"Sorry. I was sort of expecting someone. But i'm kinda glad you're here anyway, i have a lot to catch you up on." You told her honestly, chuckling airily. "You okay?"
"Yeah i just wondered if maybe you wanted to hang out? Things have been a little hectic around here lately and i think we could probably both use a distraction."
"Sure. There's a new cafe around the corner. Maybe we could check it out?"
"Yeah, okay." Wanda smiled at you as you both headed out.
[•••]
You both sat down at a small table in the corner of the room after ordering two coffees and a blueberry muffin each.
"How was the mission?" Wanda asked as she circled her pointer finger around the rim of her coffee lid.
"It was erm... eventful to say the least." You told her honestly.
"Oh yeah? What happened."
"Well.. me and Nat confessed to being in love with each other."
"I'm sorry. What? I thought you hated each other." Wanda laughed in disbelief.
"So did i. Until it came to a point where i couldn't stop thinking about her. It all just happened so fast. One minute we're screaming at each other, the next she's sticking her tongue down my throat."
"Woah woah. Spare the details please."
"Haha sorry. Anyway.. before that i kind of got myself hung up in one of HYDRA's traps." You tutted.
"Shit. Are you okay? What happened?"
"Nothing too major. I don't think."
You told Wanda everything you had told Tony, leaving her just as shocked.
