You were making your way back through the compound and towards your bedroom after checking on Steve. He told you about the unfortunate passing away of his friend Peggy, asking you to give him some alone time which you were more than willing to do so after making sure that's definitely what he wanted.

You opened your bedroom door, closing it behind you and sitting on your bed alone in thought. You couldn't help but worry about the safety of the team alongside the safety of Wanda. She was one of your closest friends in the compound and was always by your side in times of need, just like you were for her. Only this time you weren't too sure how to help her, despite promising her that you would. You'd try your hardest, you knew you would, but you questioned where your hardest would get you both. You couldn't lose her. She and Steve were like family to you. They welcomed you with open arms when you first joined the compound and made you feel welcomed. Don't get me wrong so did everybody else, but you noticed how the two made an extra effort with you. This was also why you were showing such concern for each of them during these troubled times.

Your mind then drifted off to thinking about the future of the team. So far Tony, Rhodey, Natasha and Vision seemed to be for signing. Your thoughts were getting the best of you and you needed to distract yourself so badly. It was late meaning it was more than likely that everyone would be asleep so you couldn't go to talk to anyone, so instead you decided to train.

You walked down to the training room, hooking a punching bag to the half-loop shaped metal attached to the roof, putting your earphones in at full volume and punching all of your feelings out. You didn't even realise how fast you were going and were also unaware of the pain in your knuckles, due to the fact you were in too much of a rush to put on gloves, until a hand grabbed your arm pulling you back. You looked up only to see it was Natasha and immediately pulled out of her grip.

"Don't touch me." You growled. Walking away to patch up your knuckles but she just followed you.

"We have a mission tomorrow. You need them to fight. Couldn't let you damage them anymore. The team would be pissed." She pretended she did it for the sake of the team, but deep down she knew she did it because she secretly had a hint of care in her somewhere towards you no matter how much she seemed to hate you.

"What mission? Why wasn't I informed? Besides, I didn't think we were even allowed to go on any missions due to the accords?" You asked, avoiding eye contact with her.

"Tony brought it up after you left to check on Steve, he told me I needed to tell you, I went to your room but you weren't there so i figured you'd be in here. We have 3 months until the signing of the accords, meaning we can still go on missions for now." She stood in front of you, her arms folded over her chest.

You just nodded in return. Struggling to patch up your knuckles due to the pain you were straining on the one trying to wrap the other, until Natasha snatched the medical supplies away from you and poured rubbing alcohol on your knuckles. You were confused by the gesture so you pulled away, clearly showing the look of confusion on your face when she decided to say,

"Like I said, mission tomorrow. Can't have them getting infected. You should really take better care of yourself, the team relies on you to help them." She lied.

You hesitantly put your knuckles back out for her to continue. Her fingers running over them as she wrapped the bandage around your damaged skin. You were nervous honestly. It was the first time you'd ever spent some time alone with her without screaming at each other. You found yourself staring at her and didn't even realise until she looked up to meet your gaze, your eyes locking. You looked away promptly, growing red in the face and as soon as she'd finished patching up your knuckles you left.

Once you were back in your room you quickly washed the excess blood off your hands, being careful not to wet the bandage. You climbed into bed, pulling the quilts over you and letting your head hit the pillow below you, you closed your eyes and tried to let yourself drift off to sleep,  until you suddenly remembered about the mission Natasha had informed you on, it being the whole reason she even came to find you in the first place. You figured it was best you found out about it now seeing as it took place tomorrow so you got up and headed for her room to ask her about it.
