Sarah Beth~
"I think you need a little more." Amy said, leaning over and using the big, fluffy make up brush to apply a little more blush onto my cheeks. I grinned at her, then turned to look at my reflection in the mirror behind me. Thanks to Amy, a tasteful application of make up was now on my face, and my hair (which was styled by a hairdresser Amy had booked for me) was up in a classy updo. I gazed a couple seconds more before turning my attention back to Amy.
"Thank you so much, Amy! It looks so good! You should go get ready yourself. You've done so much."
"It's not problem at all." She assured, then started towards the door. "But you are right, I should get dressed. I'll see you in a bit."
After she had exited, I turned my attention back to my reflection. I looked so good. Amy, whose hair was already styled and makeup was already on, looked good. And it was my suspicion that everyone on the male side of the party looked good as well.
This was a dream come true. Who would have thought that I, the niece of the used-to-be Chief Undersecretary for the Ministry of Magic, would grow up to marry a Muggle. Today I would officially be "dishonoring my pureblood heritage" by marrying the man who was the love of my life. Oh well, it was my special day. I wasn't going to dwell on it. Hopefully Auntie wouldn't, either.
Auntie.
I stood up and turned towards the door, making my fluffy, white dress spin around my ankles. I hadn't seen Auntie yet. Although she had assured me that she was happy that I was happy, and that she was trying to overlook her prejudice against Ashley, a smaller part of me dwelled on the possibility of her just skipping out all together. After all, she had just recently gotten news that new evidence against her from the Wizarding War had popped up, and that this time, since she is permanently out of St. Mungo's, she is completely competent to stand trial. Even worse, this evidence, which was completely disclosed to me, is severe enough that she may be sent to Azkaban. Something about when she was head of the Muggle Born Registration Commission. Serious enough that I am not allowed to testify because I am her niece... It would only make sense for her to want to skip out on something she didn't even support if her freedom is so limited....
"Sarah Beth,"
I was startled by a body blocking the doorway as I had tried to go through it. I stepped back, startled.
"Oh, Draco. And Elle! Look at you!" Standing behind him, with her eyes cast down and her hands nervously around one of her husbands, was Eleanor. She was already dressed in her gown, a bright, cheery pink, and her hair, like mine, was was styled above her head, where she couldn't pull on it. She bit her bottom lip and glanced up at me.
"Hey, Sarah Beth. You... You look pretty." Was all she offered in a soft voice before looking back down at her feet. Draco took his hands away from hers and put it on her shoulder. She gave him her full attention, or at least looked at him dead on.
"Why don't you go find Mum and Dad, Elle? I'll be there in a minute." He asked. She blinked a couple times, as if processing what he had told her, before nodding and pulling away from his hand.
"Uh-huh." She nodded, and, almost mechanically, turned around and went down the hallway. Draco turned back to me.
"Is everything okay? Elle seems a little off..." I looked around him, watching the back of Elle's dress swing as she made her way into a room a little ways around.
"No, but she'll be okay for now." Now that his wife was gone, his voice sounded tired. He dropped what ever act he as putting on.
"Oh no. What happened?" As if it weren't obvious. Ellie's hearing with the Ministry was getting closer, and the closer it was coming, the more it was scaring her.
