Sarah Beth~

The letters I had gotten from the Ministry clearly stated that I had to go to a hearing. I could tell just by the tone of the letter that they were ticked. There was no way I could wiggle myself out of it. I would have to go, but I wasn't going alone. I was bringing Ashley along with me, even if I had to drag him.

But I didn't have to drag him. Ever since I had told him I was a witch he had been asking me constantly to do some form of magic for him. I would have to decline to keep the Ministry calm though. What I did have to force him to do was cleanly shave before taking him. I loved him stuble just as much as he did, but the Ministry would want a clean shaven man.

The morning of he came out of my bathroom dressed in the same outfit he had worn to meet Auntie in. I decided to go a little more traidional and wear a nice set of pink dress robes. I was leaned against the counter, reading a letter from Mr. Dinkleberry.

"Who's that from?" Ashley asked, shuffling over next to me. I sighed and put the paper down.

"Mr. Dinkleberry. He's been sending me stuff like this for a while. I could never make it out. He keeps telling me a need a shot. And I was just wondering, shot of what? I don't drink..." Despite my honesty, he started to laugh. My cheeks turned bright red, making my freckles stand out in contrast. "What?!"

"No, not shots of alcohal. Vaccines."

"What's that?" I quetioned.

"You go to the doctor to get them." His laughing was now settling down. "You mean, you never had one."

"No. Wizards have Healers. I've never been to a doctor." I had been to the Healers tons of times, but I knew nothing about the Muggle medical world. You learn that your seventh year at Hogwarts, and my seventh year was when Voldemort had taken over. Muggle studdies had basically became a hate class against them. Therefore, I never got to learn about it.

"Oh, well, you do needs those to do anything here. Even go to school. They should have cheeked you out before you even when to the colledge."

"I didn't know. The Ministry had set everyhting up for me. I don't even legally have my liscense. The Ministry gave me one."

"That explains a lot." He wispered, and I playfully punch him in the shoulder.

"But what's a shot?"

"Oh, okay. A shot is basically when they inject you with the dead disease it's purposed for."

"What?" I didn't understand.

"They take a needle and put stuff in you that will keep you from getting sick." He put it in simple terms.

"So, you're just going to-"

"I'm not doing anything. I'll take you if that helps, but the doctor does it. I can't legally."

"Wait,  let me get this straight. They want me to let some stranger stab me with a needle and put the stuff in me that makes me sick anyway?"

"Basically."

"I don't like the sound of that..."

"It's not that bad." He put an arm around me and kissed my forhead before looking at his watch. "It's 11:30. Shouldn't we be going?"

"Yeah, probably," I replied. Ashley started to head towards the door, but I stopped him. "What?"

"We're not taking a car." I stated, pulling him back.

"Then how-" Before he could finish his sentence, I grabbed his arm and Disapparated to a place I knew all to well.

The Ministry looked the same as always. We landed on the floor of the Atrium, where an abbundance of fireplaces where placed all around and wizards were usuing Floo to come and go. I looked over at Ashley. He looked pale and a little sick.
