The next day I had to go back to the shack. Not because I wanted to, but because I had to alter the portal for Bill. If I didn't...well, it wouldn't end well for me. I snuck over to the shack. So much information was lodged into my head, thanks to Bill. I made sure the cost was clear and typed in the password. The vending machine opened like a door and I quickly stepped down the stairs. I was going so fast, focused on the task at hand, that I couldn't even take in the scene. I could see strange gadgets and gages. Lots of tanks and strange objects. I walked past a small office, in a trance, straight to a ginormous metal triangle structure. I swallowed my fear and amazement and followed the instructions flowing through my mind. I looked around and saw a laptop in the little office. I grabbed it and ran back to the metal triangle. I opened it and started to type rapidly. I glanced up at the portal every now and then to see the changes of light or color. I jumped when I heard a large metal object drop. I whipped around to see their Gruncle Stan here. My eyes widened in fear. "Oh crap." I muttered. I felt a sharp pain in my side. I could hear Bill's voice.

Keep working!

I reluctantly went back to work, awaiting Stan to discover me. The light changed dramatically from a fluorescent blue to a neon purple.

Stan ran out. "What the?! Who..."

I turned around in terror, the purple light casting a dark shadow of me on the ground.

"You! Get out! What are you doing?!" He stomped forward.

A plan shot into my mind. It was Bill, he was helping me. "I know about the portal. I know it's dangerous. I am trying to fix it, but I was afraid to talk to you after out first encounter."

Stan seemed taken back by my reason. "Uh, um." He was stuck. "You don't belong here! You don't even know what you're taking about!"

"I do know, and I'm here to help. You can't get rid of me." I persuaded him.

"You better not go on talking about this!" He warned.

"I-I won't, but I will be coming down here frequently to fix this. I won't be asking your permission. I-" I dropped the laptop and help my hands up to my head. A splitting headache erupted. I crouched over in pain .

"What...Get out, whatever your name is!"

Bill left me. I had no more ideas. "Okay." I ran out and went up the elevator, up the stairs and into the gift shop. I was quite surprised that I escaped that easily. I didn't have that much time and I knew it might be an entire week before I completed my tasks. I opened the door to exit and crashed into someone. I fell down, still holding my hand to my head. I looked up and scrambled away.

Dipper was there. "Wait. Eleanor? Why are you in the gift shop?"

I got up and the migraine disappeared. Bill filled my mouth with words. "I can't mill around a tourist's gift shop? What the heck! Stop questioning me!" Bill left.
"Ah!" The pain came back. "D-Dipper, it's not me."

Dipper stared at me confused. "I was just asking." He said offended.

"I'm sorry it-" Bill came back. "It wasn't an accident! Just, leave me alone!"

Dipper slammed the door in my face and stormed off.

"No! Dipper!" I opened the door. "Bill! It's Bill again!"

Dipper hesitated and glanced at me.

"I was here, because-" I broke off. I couldn't say it.

Dipper examined me and turned back around. "Go back home again Eleanor. Maybe tomorrow will be a better day."

I wanted to cry, but I kept in mind that he said I could come back tomorrow. I stood up, but the information was so over crowding. I didn't know being knowledgable was so painful.

I heard Bill's voice again. Nice try Eleanor. You may actually be important enough to enter my wheel or know about the journals.

"Journals?" I echoed.

Bill had disappeared again.

I dropped to the floor. I gave up. I had to finish the job, then I would be free. "I'll have to live through..." I looked up at the sky. "Or I'll live it out."
