chapter thirty two, A GAME OF TAG
The warm kiss pressed against Elaine Tate's shoulder made the girl's eyes flutter open. And even though she refused to admit it, for a split second she only imagined that John B was next to her.
"do we have to go to school" She whined after a second, her tired voice bringing a smile to Madison's face.
"yeah, I think attendance is a pretty mandatory thing" Madison joked, poking at Laney's side.
"I'd much rather spend the day in bed" She let out, pulling the blanket up to her face.
"I mean, I think your brother and Derek left for work. We could always go in at lunch" Madison suggested, and though that was not what the girl meant, she didn't let it show.
"yeah?" Her words made Madison nod and she put a smile on before lowering the blanket from her face.
"I just have to pee, be right back" She announced, slipping out of the bed and walking to the bathroom. She shut the door and leaned on the sink. The girl took a deep breath and searched for her bottle of ibuprofen. When she opened the medicine cabinet her bottle was gone and instead it was only Sam's.
"shit" She cursed under her breath, the panic spreading through every part of her body. She swallowed and shut the medicine cabinet. Elaine bit at the inside of her lip and sighed before opening the door and heading back into her room.
The bottle must have been in there somewhere but she couldn't pull apart the room without freaking Madison out. She was picking at her finger, her soberness settling in.
Madison got up from the bed and grabbed her arm, dragging her back to the bed. "let's just not go in at all" Laney pleaded, trying to use her puppy dog eyes.
"We can't do that" Madison tried to reason, trying to hold back from giving in.
"What happened to staying in bed all day?" Madison asked when Laney sat up and swung her legs over the side of the bed.
"well I gotta let the pogues know or else they'll show up to pick me up for school" She let out, quickly grabbing her phone and walking back to the bed.
ELLE Not coming into school till history
JJ Why the hell not? Then I'm not going
KIE JJ yes you are
JJ Then why doesn't Elle have to????
POPE Cause she's passing her other classes

KIE JJ you just need to get yourself a Madison to do your work for you
