chapter forty one, THE BONFIRE
A haze encapsulated Elaine as she stirred awake, the girl barely opening her eyes before the night came flooding back in. She could feel the warmth radiating off the body next to hers and pushed herself closer to him, allowing herself to drift back to sleep.
When she awoke the second time it was startled by feeling a kiss on her cheek. The culprit's hand snaked around the girls waist as he pulled her closer, smiling at the giggle the girl let out.
John B gently rested his free hand on her cheek as he brought her to his lips. A slow passionate kiss which made the lose the air currently in her lungs.
"what do you want?" The girl groaned as he pulled away, rolling over and shoving her face into the pillow.
"Uh, Pope-" His words made the girl's eyes shoot open, turning to find the pogue sheepishly standing in the doorway of her bedroom, a very tired Kiara standing behind him with wide eyes.
"I totally knew-"
"we have school, get up" John B laughed at the boy but still stood.
"no, let me sleep" Laney rolled back over to try to fall asleep.
"I'm going to wake JJ before we're late, don't go back to bed" Pope let out, turning and walking down the hall. John B looked between the boy and Laney before ruffling her hair. "I should probably go considering how much i've missed" He accepted her mumble as an answer and followed behind the scholar.
"don't go back to bed" Kiara mocked and Laney let out a laugh before pulling the covers over her face. "hey, I said don't go back to bed" Kiara mocked Pope's voice again and started to tickle the girl's side, both bursting into laughter.
"you gonna go in?" Kiara asked as she pushed the covers and flopped into the spot between Laney and the wall, where John B hadn't been laying.
"no, you?" Laney peaked from under the covers at Kiara and watched the girl shake her head.
"so um," Kiara trialed off and a bright red tint rose to the brunette's cheeks. A smile she couldn't wipe off appearing alongside it.
"Are you guys coming or not?" Pope yelled from outside the Chateau, breaking the moment. Laney rolled herself off the bed and walked to the window, opening it more so she could lean out of it.
"No!" She shouted, watching the boy visibly huff before hauling the boys into the van.
"Sam's back by the way, and uh, he knows John B slept over. Couldn't exactly hide crashing on the couch from them" Kiara warned the pogue girl as she returned to bed.
"maybe they'll be so in engaged bliss they wont even notice" Laney said aloud, more than happy to keep the topic off her and John B.
"You cant avoid talking about it" Kiara pocked at her side and Laney rolled her eyes.
