I opened the front door and Anton walked in with me curiously. I pulled off my shoes and was greeted by Whiskey and his wife, Wine.

"Hey guys, is Carrots home?" I asked curiously, Archer and Aspen raised an eyebrow at me, but didn't say anything.

Whiskey shook his head and let out a loud squeak. He scurried with Wine into their custom made house. Whiskey opened the door and I walked to the open side watching him pour a glass of water.

"So, can you speak to them and shit?" Anton asked after pulling off his own shoes. I looked up at him.

"Uhm, no but yes?" Anton watched patiently as I tapped my cheek thinking. "I don't hear words, but after so many years I know the meaning."

Whiskey handed me the glass, and I passed it to Anton. "Here, Whiskey figured you'd be thirsty."

Anton sipped the water while Whiskey got himself a big glass of alcohol.

I grabbed the glass once Anton finished in one small sip. "Want to see my room?!"

Anton paused and frowned. "Are you sure that's a good idea?"

I blinked. "Anou, demo-"

"You're speaking in Japanese," Aspen informed me. I blushed and slapped my cheeks.

"I'm sorry!" I blurted and jumped to my feet anxiously. Anton laughed.

"It's fine, let's just go."

I nodded and led the way. I opened the door to my room and twirled around to face Anton. "What do you think?"

He smiled and looked around. "Cute."

Archer puffed out his chest. "I know right? Everything is adorable."

I sat down on my bed and tilted my head to the side as Anton hesitated. "Nani?"

He jumped. "I'm sorry, you must think I'm a total airhead right now. I was just wondering if you could touch-"

"What lovely weather!" Archer yelled and starting flipping in the air. I blinked and watched Aspen start dancing.

What are they-

"Aria!" I froze and looked up towards the door. Roman stood there and stared at Anton seeming stunned. "Where is your brother, and who the hell is he?"

I touched my pounding heart and felt my hands shake at the anger seeming to roll off him. "W-wa-wata- watashi wa-"

Roman crossed his arms, and Anton slid in front of me as I stuttered. "I'm Anton, I play football. I'm her friend. I'm sorry for worrying you, but I mean no harm against your daughter. In fact, when we walked in, she asked the small rodents for an adult to inform you of my presence."

Roman turned his deep blue eyes to me and inhaled. "Is that true?"

I nodded shakily and clasped my hands together. Roman narrowed his eyes and Archer huffed.

"What a mean way to-"

"This is unacceptable. Aria, what on earth were you thinking? You can't just come into a room with a boy. I want him out, now." Roman said firmly.

I flinched. Unacceptable?

Anton looked ready to speak but I stood and grabbed Anton's arm. "Tomodachi!"

Roman rubbed his face. "Whatever the fuck that means. Don't argue with me, it's late Aria."

I felt my fingers shake uncontrollably as I held the cloth of Anton's shirt. I bit my quivering lip knowing full well why I was upset.

This might be my only chance to make another friend. Someone who's alive.

"Aria, I'll see you some other time, okay?" I looked up at Anton. "Your father is kind of right, it's not really a good idea to be alone with a boy like this."

Roman huffed. "Damn right."

Archer crossed his arms. "It would have been a blast though."

Anton grinned at Archer before gently pulling my hands off. "I'll see you another time, okay?"

I nodded and watched Roman silently move to the side so Anton could walk through the doorway. I rushed after him ignoring Roman's cursing.

I watched him open the door. "I'll see you some other time?"

I nodded and fiddled with a string on my pants. "Ii desu ne." I mumbled.

Anton smiled. "I'll assume that means yes."

As he left Roman walked over behind me and sighed heavily. "Don't do that again okay? Do you have any idea how-"

I turned and looked away from him clenching my hands into fists. Watashi wa baka desu.

"Hey! I was just -" Carrots paused and glanced between us. "What did you do?"

Roman rolled his eyes. "She had a boy in her room."

Carrots clapped a hand on my shoulder. "Atta girl! Was he hot-"

"Carrots!" Roman fumed.

Carrots waved a hand. "Fine fine, whatever. Remember how when Sora lived with you all alone though? And she seduced-"

Roman stomped over and grabbed Carrots's hair furious. "We were adults! She's seventeen!"

I looked between them and looked at my feet. "I'm sorry."

Roman paused and stepped away from Carrots rubbing his face. "I over reacted, I'm sorry as well. Let's go to bed. Before we get ourselves into another fight."

Carrots grinned. "Ooh, I'm down for fighting." He paused. "Except this time, less-"

I raised my hand. "I don't want to hear this."

Roman flushed. "I'll be in bed!"

Carrots turned to me and smiled. "Are you feeling lonely?"

I hesitantly nodded eyes watering. "I want them to come back, even though they hurt my feelings. A lot."

Carrots placed an arm around me and lead me down the hall to my room. "I've got some books to keep you company, I read them in my closet days."

Closet days?

"Books?"

Carrots nodded. "You'll love them!"

I like books. And closets.

This will be fun.
